Facilities Support Specialist   $60,000 USD/year

Description

LOCATION NOTE: This is an in-person position based at our Austin, TX campus.

A well-functioning campus feels orderly, approachable, and composed—sustained by countless deliberate choices made daily to preserve that standard.

Nova Academy serves students and families who demand excellence beyond the classroom. That expectation influences every interaction: family communications, student safety protocols, operational flow, and issue resolution. This position ensures those expectations are met consistently.

You will oversee all non-instructional campus operations. You establish credibility with families by delivering transparent, prompt communication. You protect students by managing safety systems and emergency protocols. You coordinate facilities, logistics, and operations so instructional staff remain focused on teaching. You also maintain technology systems to support rather than disrupt learning.

This is a practical, community-oriented role suited to someone who values diversity, accountability, and service. If you are motivated by troubleshooting challenges, strengthening a community, and shaping an environment where learning and support flourish, this position provides clear ownership and measurable impact.

What you will be doing

  • Cultivating trusted relationships with families, students, and staff through responsive, bilingual outreach
  • Directing campus safety systems, including entry protocols, health response, emergency drills, record-keeping, and family notifications
  • Supervising day-to-day campus functions including attendance tracking, transport logistics, facility maintenance, and office coordination
  • Facilitating onboarding and orientation for incoming staff to ensure alignment with campus procedures and culture
  • Administering student technology and campus systems, functioning as the primary on-site tech resource and Google Administrator

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering classroom instruction or supporting academic teaching
  • Mentoring Guides or creating curricular content
  • Functioning within a narrowly scoped or exclusively clerical capacity
  • Working in a static, fully predictable setting
  • Delegating issues rather than driving them to completion

Key responsibilities

Guarantee that Nova Academy functions securely, smoothly, and reliably so that students, staff, and families encounter a trustworthy, well-managed campus environment daily.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (field of study not specified)
  • Minimum of 1 year in office coordination, facilities management, site operations, or comparable operational functions
  • Proficiency with routine technology responsibilities including device configuration, problem resolution, and account management
  • Demonstrated written and spoken communication ability
  • Capacity to handle competing priorities with precision and care
  • Fluency in both spoken Spanish and English
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Ability to work on-site in Austin, TX, or readiness to relocate

Nice to have

  • 3+ years managing operational functions
  • Prior experience as a Google Administrator
  • Background in event coordination and execution
