Business Operations Manager   $60,000 USD/year

Description

LOCATION NOTE: This is an on-site position based at our Austin, TX campus.

A well-functioning campus feels orderly, welcoming, and composed—because someone is orchestrating countless behind-the-scenes decisions to maintain that atmosphere.

Nova Academy is designed to serve students and families who hold high expectations for their school experience. Those expectations reach beyond the classroom. They surface in the clarity of family communications, the sense of safety students experience, the operational flow of each school day, and the speed with which challenges are addressed. This position ensures all of those elements function reliably, day in and day out.

In this capacity, you oversee the complete non-instructional operations of the campus. You establish trust with families by delivering clear and timely updates. You protect student welfare by managing safety protocols and incident procedures. You handle facilities, logistics, and everyday operations so that staff can remain concentrated on students. You also ensure that technology serves as an enabler of learning rather than a source of disruption.

This is a practical, community-oriented position suited to someone who values variety, accountability, and service. If you find fulfillment in resolving challenges, supporting a school community, and cultivating an environment where students and staff succeed, this role provides substantial ownership and meaningful influence.

What you will be doing

  • Cultivating effective relationships with parents, students, and staff via proactive, bilingual outreach
  • Directing campus safety functions, including entry protocols, health event management, emergency drills, record-keeping, and family notifications
  • Supervising day-to-day campus functions such as attendance tracking, transportation logistics, facility maintenance coordination, and administrative support
  • Assisting with onboarding and orientation for incoming staff to facilitate seamless adoption of campus procedures and culture
  • Administering student technology and campus systems, acting as the primary on-site technical resource and Google Administrator

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering classroom instruction or providing academic support
  • Mentoring Guides or contributing to curriculum design
  • Functioning within a rigid, narrowly scoped, or entirely desk-bound role
  • Working in a static, entirely predictable setting
  • Delegating issues rather than driving them to completion

Key responsibilities

Guarantee that Nova Academy runs safely, efficiently, and reliably so that students, staff, and families encounter a trustworthy, well-managed campus environment each day.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (field of study not specified)
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in office coordination, facilities management, site operations, or comparable operational functions
  • Proficiency with fundamental technology tasks including device configuration, basic troubleshooting, and user account management
  • Demonstrated written and spoken communication abilities
  • Capacity to juggle multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Fluency in both spoken Spanish and English
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Ability to work on-site in Austin, TX, or readiness to relocate

Nice to have

  • 3 or more years of operational management experience
  • Prior experience functioning as a Google Administrator
  • Background in event planning and execution
