Enrollment Specialist   $40,000 USD/year

Description

Success in this role depends on your ability to establish trust with parents within moments of starting a conversation. You will thrive here if outreach energizes you, you maintain consistent follow-up, and you can confidently present a new approach to education without depending on scripts. If phone-based communication doesn't appeal to you or you prefer working without measurable performance standards, this opportunity will not align with your strengths.

Nova Academy operates as a tuition-free virtual public charter school and serves students through a distinctive model. Core academic work is completed in a concentrated time block using AI-supported learning, allowing students to dedicate the remainder of their day to real-world skill development through enrichment and project-based activities. Your function is to serve as the first substantive contact point for families considering this educational option.

Your weekly responsibilities include responding promptly to new inquiries, supporting families through admissions, and advancing them from initial curiosity to completed enrollment. You will also attend local events on behalf of Nova Academy to cultivate new leads and strengthen community awareness. During periods of lower enrollment activity, you will support operational functions while remaining prepared for the next intake cycle.

If you are looking for a position where your communication skills, accountability, and initiative directly influence student enrollment outcomes, we would like to speak with you.

What you will be doing

  • Reaching out to new inbound leads within 24 hours and beginning admissions discussions via phone
  • Presenting Nova Academy's virtual model and enrollment procedures using clear, accessible language
  • Maintaining systematic follow-up to advance families from inquiry through application to completed enrollment
  • Recording all interactions in a CRM with detailed notes, planned next steps, and current pipeline status
  • Planning and facilitating local recruitment events in Arizona or Texas to introduce the school and collect new leads

What you will NOT be doing

  • Allowing inbound leads to remain uncontacted while completing administrative tasks
  • Relying on rigid scripts or functioning like a high-volume call center agent
  • Participating in events passively without actively presenting the school or capturing leads
  • Focusing primarily on back-office responsibilities during periods of active enrollment demand

Key responsibilities

Transform new family interest into qualified, well-informed applicants who successfully complete enrollment at Nova Academy.

Candidate requirements

  • Located in Arizona or Texas and available to work in a hybrid capacity
  • 1–2 years of experience in a customer-facing role or customer service
  • Background working with families or children (examples include schools, tutoring, camps, childcare, or similar settings)
  • Comfortable initiating frequent phone calls and leading families through multi-step procedures
  • Strong spoken communication abilities with a talent for quickly building trust
  • Working knowledge of CRM systems or digital tools for lead tracking

Nice to have

  • Background in lead qualification, inside sales, enrollment, or admissions roles
  • Experience organizing or leading presentations at outreach programs or community events
  • Academic background or coursework in education, communications, or a related discipline
