Business Development Manager   $150,000 USD/year

Description

Most families don't yet know that a school like this is even an option. Your role is to ensure that the right families commit when they're ready.

Texas Sports Academy operates on a belief most institutions avoid: that high-level athletic training and advanced academics can coexist without compromise. The families who discover us are already searching for an alternative. What they need is someone who can guide them to a confident decision.

That's where you come in. You lead consultative sales discussions — not automated follow-up campaigns. You identify the root of hesitation, bring it into the open, address it directly, and close. You manage a pipeline of 20+ active prospects in CRM with clearly defined stages and realistic close probabilities. Your performance metric is conversion rate, not volume of activity. When a deal loses momentum, you disqualify it — because maintaining pipeline integrity is strategic, not defeatist.

This position is on-site in San Antonio, TX or Dallas, TX. If you're already there — or prepared to relocate — submit your application now.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting 1:1 consultative sales discussions with prospective families through phone calls, Zoom sessions, and face-to-face meetings — identifying academic, athletic, and family-specific decision factors before presenting any offer
  • Identifying and addressing objections as they arise — around pricing, model credibility, and alternative choices — not after the conversation concludes
  • Requesting enrollment commitment and finalizing the sale — the interaction concludes with payment, not interest
  • Managing an active pipeline of 20+ prospects from start to finish — updating stage and close probability in CRM, executing timely and customized follow-ups after each touchpoint, and proactively disqualifying inactive deals instead of allowing them to linger

What you will NOT be doing

  • Handing off the close to a senior admissions lead or school leadership — you retain ownership of the conversation from initial inquiry to enrollment completion
  • Relying on a pre-written objection script — every family's concern is unique and you'll assess it in the moment
  • Waiting passively for families to re-engage — you control the timeline and push toward a definitive decision

Key responsibilities

Generate consistent enrollment growth for Texas Sports Academy by converting qualified prospective families into confirmed enrollments through structured consultative sales execution.

Candidate requirements

  • At least 5+ sales or enrollment conversations where you personally owned the final close
  • Experience managing 10+ concurrent prospects within a structured pipeline
  • Experience working with a CRM (HubSpot preferred) to track pipeline stages, document interactions, and monitor close probability
  • Experience responding to a live objection from a prospect regarding price, skepticism, or competing options
  • Located in or willing to relocate to San Antonio, TX or Dallas, TX; this role is fully on-site
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Background in K–12 private school admissions, tutoring center enrollment, or learning center sales where the parent serves as the primary decision-maker and the offering requires detailed explanation
  • Experience selling a non-conventional education model (micro school, competency-based curriculum, hybrid or accelerated academics) to hesitant families
  • Proven pipeline discipline — ability to demonstrate conversion rate growth over a specific timeframe, supported by evidence of how opportunities were tracked, prioritized, and closed
