  • Hey, Welcome Back!
  • Calling all Remote Work Rebels!

Expect the unexpected…even if it's a dead body. In this episode, Andrew interviews expert guest Laurel Farrer about what could, should and will be happening in remote work over the next 3-5 years.

Hey, Welcome Back!

What does the future of remote work look like?

🧙‍♀️ You could ask a psychic. Or better yet, you could ask Laurel Farrer!

In case you’ve been on airplane mode for the past few years, let me jog your memory: Laurel is the Founder and CEO of Distribute Consulting, a prolific Forbes Contributor, Gitlab royalty and a remote work MVP.

Along with being a LinkedIn Top Voice, she also recently won our inaugural ‘Voice of The Future’ award for making some eerily accurate predictions these past few years.

🧠 I couldn’t wait to pick her brain on what’s next for remote work.

RTO mandates, polarizing debates and corporate power struggles.

Predicting the next 3-5 years in the world of remote work is no cakewalk. But we’re ready to dish out some tasty forecasts anyway.

We’ve all just lived through an amazing moment in history.

☕ Large brands were laughing their heads off about major shifts towards remote work before 2020. Then they had to pivot faster than an office chair in a swivel race.

It’s not surprising they’re rejecting remote work again.

But the fact is: working remotely saved us. It saved all of us. And it has the potential to do so much more than that.

Laurel joins me to explore the more important questions.

❌ Not whether it’s going to happen, it has happened.

❌ Not where we should work, but how.

"The future of work isn’t coming: it’s here. That decision was made for all of us in 2019. The only action that is needed for us - is how to do it better." - Laurel Farrer, 2023

It’s episode 48 and I’m chatting with Laurel about the future of remote work. We’re ditching the boring sensationalized ‘us vs them’ narratives, to tap into something transformative and real.

✨ We discuss what really needs to happen to pull remote work out of stagnancy. The choices true remote leaders will make in the coming years and the brutal problems remote work stands to solve: if only we embrace it.

According to Laurel - it’s not the corporate mammoths we should look to for change.

Sometimes the most impactful change starts with one person.

And today that could be you.

📽️ This Week on Episode 48:

🔮 An in-depth interview predicting the future of work in 3-5 years

⚰️ Expect the unexpected…even a dead body during a meeting

🤯 Here’s what remote work could be, should be, and actually will be (gasp!)

🧩 The switch remote managers desperately need to make

🦸🏽‍♂️ How you and your team can help remote work save the world

A huge thank-you to Laurel for sharing her stories, views and experiences with us. You can follow her on LinkedIn or check out her website here.

If you’re dying to know what the future of remote work has in store, this is the episode to watch and share with your team.

🌟 Enjoy!

The future of work is still out of office -

Andrew
