Enterprise Sales Director   $100,000 USD/year

Description

You're an enterprise account manager tired of playing the role of a polite renewal administrator. You understand how to maintain satisfaction among high-profile clients, ensure contract integrity, and sustain revenue streams—all without requiring a full team of CSMs, solution engineers, or enablement specialists to support you at every turn. You can communicate outcomes to a CMO, execution details to a content director, and risk mitigation to compliance teams. And you possess the capability to develop automation that fundamentally transforms your workflow, not just surface-level "I use ChatGPT" claims.

Contently operates within the enterprise segment where errors carry significant consequences: regulated content. Financial institutions, healthcare organizations, and major consumer brands rely on us because brand safety, governance, and compliance are non-negotiable. The compelling aspect is that you won't be starting from scratch with unfamiliar accounts. You'll be taking ownership of an enterprise portfolio with established trust already in place. Your objective is to convert that trust into sustained and expanding revenue by demonstrating ROI in terms your clients understand, then pursuing intelligent expansion opportunities. As you do this, you'll contribute to defining what AI-enabled account management will look like in 2026 within a content organization—a playbook that doesn't yet exist.

This role means owning renewals with a closer's mentality. It involves conducting QBRs that resonate with executives because you can connect usage metrics to business outcomes like reduced compliance risk and strengthened brand authority. It requires proactively identifying expansion opportunities within accounts and across the market, then presenting proposals grounded in what the client is genuinely doing and what they truly require. It also means delivering automation on a quarterly basis that eliminates hours of repetitive account management tasks, freeing your time for strategy, negotiation, and growth initiatives. If your understanding of "AI skills" is limited to writing more polished emails quickly, this role will not be a fit.

You'll join a lean team where accountability defines the culture and autonomy is the benefit. You'll collaborate cross-functionally with experts in product, support, finance, and marketing as necessary, but you are the operator responsible for driving results. If you're seeking a portfolio of genuine enterprise clients, rapid feedback on your impact, and a position where building with AI is a mandatory expectation, we encourage you to apply. If you're hoping to use this opportunity to learn AI building skills and expect a ramp-up period, please do not apply (other Crossover opportunities offer that path).

What you will be doing

  • Account Renewals - Execute annual contract renewals on schedule, at or exceeding current ARR, with documented justification for retention outcomes
  • Customer Success Plans - Maintain a success plan for each account that captures the client's objectives, health indicators, renewal schedule, and expansion pathway
  • AI Workflow Automation - Develop scripts or automation solutions to manage routine activities (data extraction for reports, status communications, QBR preparation)

What you will NOT be doing

  • Pursuing new logo acquisition or conducting cold outreach campaigns
  • Developing content marketing strategies on behalf of customers
  • Limiting AI tool usage to writing assistance or research support

Key responsibilities

  • Retain and expand revenue within Contently's existing enterprise portfolio

Candidate requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing enterprise accounts with $200K+ ARR at a software company
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging data (usage metrics, renewal history, platform engagement) to construct business cases for executive decision-makers
  • Capability to create AI workflow automations
  • Availability to work US work hours (EST time zone)
