Guide K-2 - Dorado   $100,000 USD/year

Description

  • Location: Dorado, Puerto Rico (on-site) | Compensation: $100,000/year | Full-time: 40 hours/week

If you want a quiet classroom and a script to follow, stop here. This role is for someone who can command a room of 10–15 young kids, keep energy high, and hold a hard line on standards. You will coach behavior, focus, and follow-through in real time, and you will expect mastery, not participation trophies.

Alpha is an AI-powered private school built around a simple idea: kids can master core academics faster with adaptive learning apps, then use the rest of the day to build the life skills that actually change their future. Your job is to make that model work for a K–2 cohort. You will run hands-on life skills workshops (public speaking, focus, giving and receiving feedback) and drive daily progress inside the learning apps using Coachbot analytics, clear targets, and consistent motivation systems.

This is high-accountability work. The scoreboard is clear: 2x academic progress each semester, 90%+ student satisfaction, and students who can prove life-skill mastery through Test2Pass. If you’re ready to coach with energy, precision, and conviction, we want to meet you.

What you will be doing

  • Run one-hour, hands-on life skills workshops using storytelling, pacing, and active practice so students can pass Test2Pass
  • Use Coachbot analytics to spot blockers early, set daily and weekly targets, and keep every student on pace in adaptive learning apps
  • Lead group check-ins that reinforce goals, celebrate wins, and surface problems before they turn into missed targets
  • Apply motivation systems (school currency, leaderboards, incentives) to drive visible behavior change in focus, persistence, and output
  • Intervene immediately when students are stuck or off-task, coaching problem-solving and self-correction in the moment

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering academic lectures or tutoring as the primary source of instruction
  • Passively supervising kids on devices while hoping progress happens
  • Lowering weekly goals to make the numbers look good
  • Running workshops where students “participate” but cannot demonstrate mastery afterward

Key responsibilities

This role exists so a K–2 cohort consistently delivers 2x academic progress each semester while maintaining 90%+ student satisfaction and verified life-skill mastery.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • Full fluency in English
  • At least intermediate Spanish proficiency to manage behavior, give directions, and communicate with families
  • 3+ years of experience working with children ages 4–8 in high-energy, high-engagement settings (classroom, camp, coaching, or afterschool programs)
  • Experience actively managing and engaging groups of 10–15+ young children (not supervision-only)
  • Exposure to structured goal-setting or progress targets with children
  • Track record of receiving performance feedback and applying it
  • Willing to work in person in Dorado, Puerto Rico
  • Legal authorization to work in Puerto Rico without sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Experience running structured workshops that include an assessment or performance check
  • Experience using data or learning analytics to drive student progress (e.g., app dashboards, progress reports)
  • Direct experience with incentive systems such as points, currency, badges, or leaderboards in a youth setting
