Long-term role

Key responsibilities

Own the end-to-end expansion of new school locations by delivering fully operational campuses on predictable timelines while continuously reducing time, cost, and risk through AI-driven systems.

Description

Most operators can open a school. Few can do it repeatedly, predictably, and faster every time.

Alpha is building a national network of schools designed to compress a full day of learning into two focused hours using AI. That model only works if expansion is just as precise as the product itself. This role exists to make that happen. You will own the full lifecycle of new school locations—from raw site to fully operational campus—while building the systems that make each subsequent opening faster, cleaner, and more predictable.

This is not a traditional development role. You are not here to just manage projects. You are here to eliminate friction from expansion. That means making hard calls on site viability, stepping into permitting and construction issues, negotiating with vendors, and driving timelines with urgency. At the same time, you will break every part of this process into structured, AI-driven workflows that reduce manual effort and improve forecast accuracy over time.

If you have led real-world builds and are frustrated by slow timelines, fragmented ownership, and repeated mistakes, this is where you fix it—at scale.

Candidate requirements

  • Proven experience leading at least one real estate development or construction project from site selection through opening with full ownership
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent builds or capital projects with direct responsibility for timelines, coordination, and issue resolution
  • Strong fluency in zoning, permitting, construction, and vendor coordination, with the ability to engage directly with GCs, architects, and regulators
  • Demonstrated ability to make tradeoff decisions across cost, timeline, and feasibility with clear, measurable outcomes
  • Experience improving or structuring complex operational workflows (e.g., permitting, design coordination, construction execution)
  • Demonstrated ability to break complex workflows into structured, repeatable systems and improve them over time
  • Evidence of using tools (AI or otherwise) to reduce manual work, accelerate decision-making, or improve execution speed
  • High ownership mindset with the ability to operate in ambiguity and drive real-world outcomes
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% to active school sites across the US and be on-site during critical phases of development and opening
  • Currently located in the US and eligible to work without visa sponsorship

MISSION

A school focused on student growth

Alpha is creating a school day with more room for students to grow. Students move through academics faster, but the real mission is much bigger than speed - giving them more time for confidence, life skills, curiosity, connection, and growth beyond the classroom.

  • Academics with momentum: Students master core learning in focused, personalized blocks.
  • More room for life skills: Freed-up time goes into workshops, projects, passions, and practical growth.
  • An authentic version of student success: Alpha cares about academic progress, human development, and students who love learning.

Alpha’s model is built for people who believe school can ask more of students while giving them more in return.

CULTURE

Work with people who raise the bar

Alpha doesn't believe in 'good enough.' The work attracts inspiring educators, operators, leaders, and visionaries who want to be excellent at what they do, and be surrounded by colleagues who know education can be better for everyone.

  • High standards: Alpha looks for people who want to keep improving and reaching for more.
  • Growth mindset: The best team members are curious, coachable, and ready to learn fast.
  • Shared responsibility: Students benefit when every adult around them brings energy, judgment, and care.

For the right person, this kind of culture is deeply motivating. It's a place to do some of the most industry-changing work in education, with people who really care about the outcome.

Bring your talent to a team that raises the bar.

IMPACT

Use technology to unlock human connection

Alpha uses AI technology to create more space for what students need from people - guidance, encouragement, mentorship, motivation, and meaningful connection. The goal isn't to make education less human, or replace teachers with AI. It's to give talented people more room to do the work students remember.

  • More meaningful student connection: Adults spend less time delivering one-size-fits-all instruction and more time coaching growth.
  • More visible progress: Students get one-on-one support that helps them academically, socially, and personally.
  • More room to make a difference: Every role contributes to a school experience designed around student potential.

For educators, Alpha is where impact achieves its highest potential. For non-educators, it's a way to bring serious talent into work that changes real student lives.

Help students go further than school has ever let them.
