Head of Media   $400,000 USD/year

Description

You know the difference between content that gets posted and content that gets shared. If you've personally built an audience through videos you shot, edited, packaged, and published yourself, this is your opportunity to do it again—this time helping launch a school that teaches teenagers to become founders.

Founders School is building a new category of education for ambitious teens who want to create companies instead of waiting until adulthood to start. We need someone who can turn founder conversations, student breakthroughs, and entrepreneurial moments into platform-native content that earns attention organically. Your success will not be measured by content calendars, brand guidelines, or agency management. It will be measured by one thing: whether the audience grows and qualified families want to join.

This is a creator role disguised as a leadership title. You will personally identify stories, write hooks, film, edit, publish, and relentlessly improve content across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and emerging platforms. AI should already be part of how you research, edit, repurpose, and optimize your work. Every piece of content is an experiment. Every experiment teaches you something about what ambitious teens and founder-minded families want to watch. If you've built audiences from the ground up, thrive in founder-led environments, and want your work to shape the launch of a national brand, we want to see what you've created. Apply today.

What you will be doing

  • Personally create founder-led content by writing, filming, editing, packaging, publishing, and optimizing videos across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and other creator platforms.
  • Turn founder interviews, student stories, events, and raw footage into compelling narratives that ambitious teens and parents naturally want to watch and share.
  • Run rapid experiments with hooks, thumbnails, titles, formats, editing styles, posting cadence, and distribution to maximize organic audience growth.
  • Use analytics and AI tools to improve content quality, production speed, and performance with every release.
  • Build the creator-led media engine that generates qualified admissions demand through authentic storytelling rather than paid promotion.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Managing agencies, production vendors, or teams that create the content for you.
  • Approving creative from the sidelines instead of personally producing high-performing content.
  • Running institutional school marketing, corporate brand campaigns, or maintaining a social media calendar.
  • Chasing vanity metrics or relying on paid advertising instead of earning organic audience growth.
  • Spending your time in meetings discussing content instead of making it.

Key responsibilities

Personally build Founders School's creator-led media engine to generate 5,000 qualified inbound admissions inquiries within the first 12 months through high-performing, founder-driven content.

Candidate requirements

  • Proven experience in one of the following:
    • Personally built an audience from zero to millions as a creator or as one of the first members of a creator team, or
    • Worked hands-on inside a world-class founder-led content engine with clear ownership of content creation and audience growth.
  • A portfolio including 2–3 pieces of content you personally shot, edited, packaged, and published with measurable organic performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to explain your direct contribution to audience growth using metrics such as subscribers, followers, watch time, engagement, shares, or views.
  • Expert hands-on skills in scripting, filming, editing, packaging, publishing, and iterating creator-led video content.
  • Strong instincts for founder storytelling and platform-native content creation.
  • Daily use of AI tools to accelerate research, scripting, editing, repurposing, or performance optimization.
  • Located in, or willing to relocate to, New York, NY within 60 days.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience creating content for entrepreneurs, startup founders, or creator-led businesses.
  • Experience launching a media brand or channel from zero.
  • Deep understanding of what resonates with ambitious teenagers and young entrepreneurs.
  • Experience translating analytics into repeatable content playbooks.
