Head Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • On-site position at an Alpha campus: Dallas, TX · Oklahoma City, OK · Austin, TX · Keller (Fort Worth), TX · The Woodlands (Houston), TX
  • $150,000 annual W2 salary with weekly pay. Health benefits begin day one.

The greatest gift you can give a student who scored 99% is honest feedback that they fell short.

Not because perfection is the goal. Because genuine belief in someone's capacity to improve is among the most profound forms of respect.

Traditional schools shield students from failure. Alpha equips them for achievement. We hold that confidence doesn't emerge from reduced expectations. It develops when students accomplish what they previously considered impossible. This conviction informs everything we do.

Our approach is intentionally distinct. Students advance through academics independently via AI-powered platforms, which allows adults to concentrate on the work that transforms trajectories: coaching character, cultivating resilience, fostering leadership, and establishing habits that produce exceptional results. We don't require adults to transmit information. We need leaders capable of drawing out excellence in others.

This position anchors that purpose. You'll develop the Guides who engage directly with students, transforming them into outstanding coaches rather than traditional instructors. You'll facilitate life skills workshops that resonate with students for years. You'll analyze performance data to pinpoint where students or Guides are underperforming and coach them toward excellence. You'll also maintain your own student cohort, embodying the standards you establish for others.

The cascading impact is substantial. Each Guide you develop influences dozens of students. Every enhancement you introduce to campus culture multiplies across hundreds of young lives. Success isn't determined by meeting attendance or documentation volume. It's measured by whether students grow more confident, disciplined, resilient, and capable because of the environment you cultivated.

This isn't a position for those seeking to maintain existing educational structures. It's designed for someone convinced that young people merit more than compliance, seat time, and mediocre expectations. If you're motivated by coaching individuals through substantial challenges, leveraging data for superior decisions, and upholding rigorous standards because you truly believe others can reach them, you'll excel in this role.

Apply if you're prepared to establish a culture where excellence is standard, coaching transforms lives, and students realize they're capable of achievements far beyond their initial assumptions.

What you will be doing

  • Develop and coach Guides to execute Alpha's coaching methodology with reliability, enthusiasm, and exacting standards.
  • Facilitate dynamic life skills workshops addressing communication, concentration, feedback, leadership, and resilience for K-8 students through established frameworks.
  • Analyze student and Guide performance metrics to uncover coaching opportunities, eliminate obstacles, and produce quantifiable progress weekly.
  • Conduct motivation sessions that empower every student to embrace ambitious objectives and consistently reach them.
  • Sustain your own student cohort while exemplifying the coaching quality and accountability you require from all Guides.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Instructing academic content. Students progress through core academics independently via AI-powered learning platforms.
  • Developing lesson plans or curriculum materials. Your responsibility centers on exceptional coaching, not producing instructional content.
  • Controlling classrooms through lectures, worksheets, or behavior management systems. Students direct their own learning while you coach the practices that enable achievement.
  • Reducing standards to sidestep challenging discussions. Elevated expectations and authentic confidence in each student's capabilities are inseparable.
  • Defining success through activity volume rather than outcomes. Impact supersedes effort alone.

Key responsibilities

Establish a coaching culture in which exceptional Guides reliably develop students who are passionate about school, accelerate through academics, and cultivate the resilience, leadership, and life competencies necessary for success well beyond the classroom.

Candidate requirements

  • Available to work on-site in Dallas, TX; Oklahoma City, OK; Austin, TX; Keller (Fort Worth), TX; or The Woodlands (Houston), TX (relocation assistance available).
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, Organizational Leadership, or comparable discipline.
Minimum 5 years leading adults in education, learning and development, youth leadership, coaching, or similar results-oriented environments.
  • Verified success supervising teams of five or more individuals, encompassing hiring, coaching, performance management, and challenging accountability discussions.
  • Direct experience working with children ages 5-14 in educational, developmental, athletic, or youth leadership contexts.
  • Demonstrated history of building, launching, scaling, or substantially improving a program, team, school, business, or initiative.
  • Established capability to leverage performance metrics and data for diagnosing issues, prioritizing interventions, and achieving measurable outcomes.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or related discipline.
  • Background coaching athletics, facilitating outdoor or experiential education, directing camps, youth programs, or similar cohort-based organizations.
  • Experience establishing or managing innovative education, EdTech, tutoring, nonprofit, or learning initiatives beyond conventional classroom instruction.
  • Personal track record of outstanding accomplishment in academics, athletics, entrepreneurship, or leadership.
  • Deep-seated belief that education should produce capable, resilient, self-directed young people rather than merely transmit academic material.
