Head of Content   $100,000 USD/year

Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is an in-person role based at our Austin, Texas campus.

Traditional schools focus on telling students what to think. This position is designed to show them how to execute.

Alpha is creating a new model for high school education—one where students don't passively absorb lectures or memorize facts. Instead, they create, launch, communicate, and evolve. They initiate projects, validate concepts, and acquire practical skills that many professionals never develop. Your responsibility is to ensure they follow through and excel.

You will engage directly with high school students as they launch businesses, manage projects, and cultivate the confidence, communication skills, and competence necessary for success beyond the classroom. You are not here to deliver theory. You are here to facilitate execution. You will establish rigorous standards, maintain accountability, and challenge students to generate work that meets real-world benchmarks.

This position suits individuals who have accomplished something significant outside academic settings—whether building a product, cultivating an audience, operating within a startup, or producing results in dynamic environments—and wish to leverage that background to develop emerging talent. If you seek a conventional teaching position, look elsewhere. If you aim to influence how driven teenagers think, operate, and perform, this is your opportunity.

If you've achieved tangible outcomes in your career and want to dedicate your time to advancing motivated teenagers toward their full capability, this is the right place. Apply now

What you will be doing

  • Design practical workshops that teach students to build genuine social media audiences
  • Mentor students on content planning, spanning idea generation through AI-powered optimization
  • Support students in transforming their specialized knowledge into viable personal brands
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group coaching to establish objectives, maintain consistency, and produce concrete deliverables
  • Enforce rigorous standards for communication quality, work output, and commitment
  • Shepherd students through practical projects (entrepreneurship, marketing, software development, etc.) while demanding measurable outcomes
  • Monitor student advancement across the 3 C's and take action when performance declines
  • Maintain transparent communication with students and parents regarding achievements, deficiencies, and action items

What you will NOT be doing

  • Conducting conventional lectures or following prescribed curricula
  • Evaluating homework assignments or emphasizing abstract concepts
  • Coddling disengaged students or compromising standards for the sake of comfort
  • Working within a sluggish, bureaucratic educational institution

Key responsibilities

Produce quantifiable improvement in students' confidence, communication ability, and practical capability by guiding them to execute consistently at elevated standards.

Candidate requirements

  • Proven history of significant personal accomplishment in at least one practical domain: launching a business, building an audience, generating revenue, publishing research, competing at elite levels, or equivalent
  • Effective coaching and mentoring capabilities, with an aptitude for motivating teenagers
  • 3+ years of experience coaching/mentoring teenagers
  • Superior communication and presentation abilities
  • Proficiency with AI/technology tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)
  • Available to work on-site in Austin, TX. Relocation support is provided
  • Authorized to work in the US without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Substantial expertise in at least one applied field (entrepreneurship, medicine, sales, technology, creative sectors, finance, athletics) that you can integrate into sessions and workshops with precision
  • Background working in a startup or rapid-growth organization at any capacity
