Enrollment Director   $200,000 USD/year

Description

While most enrollment positions focus on driving numbers, this role is designed to safeguard quality and alignment.

Alpha is developing a school model of exceptional ambition. Our campuses integrate demanding academics with technology-enabled instruction and elevated expectations for both learners and educators. Students routinely exceed national learning benchmarks—a claim supported by measurable data. Afternoons are structured to prioritize depth, autonomy, and practical competency development. The model delivers results. But success depends entirely on enrolling families who are genuinely aligned. That responsibility belongs to you.

You will manage the complete admissions process for a campus, guiding families from initial inquiry to final enrollment. This is not a position where responsibilities are divided among multiple people. You own the family experience: how they perceive us, how thoroughly they understand our approach, and whether their enrollment decision reflects true fit. Your role includes evaluating compatibility, facilitating informed discussions, and recommending against enrollment when appropriate. The objective is not to maximize headcount. The objective is to ensure alignment.

We welcome applicants from high-caliber service backgrounds outside conventional education settings: selective private schools, competitive programs, upscale hospitality, executive assistance, premium membership services, or entrepreneurial roles managing valuable client relationships from start to finish. What counts is your capacity to execute a meticulous, multi-phase process with discernment, precision, and accountability. If your professional experience centers on delivering exceptional service where trust, confidentiality, and client experience define brand reputation, this role will resonate. Apply now to bring that discipline to meaningful work.

What you will be doing

  • Taking full ownership of the enrollment experience for prospective families, from initial engagement through onboarding completion.
  • Facilitating discovery conversations to evaluate alignment before offering recommendations or advancing families to subsequent stages.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family relationships across various enrollment phases, with transparent tracking of status and next actions.
  • Guiding campus visits, student shadow days, and enrollment discussions that articulate outcomes, expectations, and the specific profile of families for whom the model is designed.
  • Ensuring CRM and enrollment data (HubSpot and SIS) remain current and accurate to enable forecasting, prioritization, and service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Employing transactional or aggressive sales methods.
  • Accepting families who lack alignment simply to meet enrollment targets.
  • Supervising a sizable team or navigating complex internal approval hierarchies.
  • Handing off ownership of family touchpoints to other team members.
  • Operating remotely. This position requires on-campus presence.

Key responsibilities

Execute and oversee a selective, high-trust enrollment process that successfully converts well-aligned families while preserving the standards and effectiveness of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing exceptional, tailored service in settings where service excellence directly influences brand perception (education, upscale hospitality, executive support, premium memberships, or owner-managed services).
  • Proven ownership of a complete client, admissions, or enrollment experience from initial contact through final onboarding.
  • Experience managing 20+ concurrent client, guest, or family engagements at varying stages, supported by a reliable tracking and prioritization framework.
  • Capacity to provide specific examples of consultative judgment, including instances where you advised against your own product or service due to poor fit.
  • Professional-level written communication with senior leaders, high-net-worth clients, or discerning audiences.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of these locations: Malibu, CA; Los Angeles, CA; or Santa Barbara, CA.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience in admissions for selective private schools or enrollment for competitive programs.
  • Background in upscale hospitality, VIP client services, or executive support functions.
  • Experience designing or improving enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service benchmarks.
  • Ability to leverage data and CRM analytics to enhance conversion quality, not merely velocity.
