Operations Coordinator   $75,000 USD/year

Description

LOCATION NOTE: This is an on-site position based at our Chantilly, VA campus.

You are the individual who ensures everything functions seamlessly. When a campus operates without friction, students experience security, staff maintain their focus, and parents place their confidence in the institution. This outcome is not accidental. It results from someone quietly coordinating hundreds of moving parts each day—with precision, promptness, and dedication.

Alpha is constructing one of the world's most forward-thinking school models. We integrate demanding academics, technology-enhanced learning, and elevated standards for both students and staff. This position ensures the non-instructional aspects of campus life meet the same excellence we demand in our classrooms.

In this capacity, you control the operational pulse of the campus. You manage community correspondence, campus security, facilities oversight, logistics, and daily technology administration. At any moment you might be organizing a safety exercise, troubleshooting a device malfunction, integrating a new team member, or responding to a parent inquiry. Your role extends beyond maintenance—you are building credibility.

This is a practical, in-person position designed for someone who excels in fluid environments, remains composed under stress, and holds themselves to a high standard of service delivery. If you seek work where your choices directly influence student safety, staff productivity, and parent confidence, this role provides genuine authority and measurable impact.

What you will be doing

  • Acting as a central contact for parents, students, and staff, providing clear, prompt, and professional correspondence
  • Overseeing campus security functions, including entry management, health response, emergency drills, record-keeping, and family updates
  • Directing daily campus functions including attendance systems, facility coordination, transit logistics, and administrative support
  • Assisting with onboarding and orientation of new employees to facilitate seamless integration into campus workflows
  • Administering student devices and campus technology infrastructure, serving as the on-site tech point person and Google Administrator

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering classroom instruction or overseeing academic programming
  • Mentoring Guides or contributing to curriculum design
  • Operating within a limited, specialized administrative function
  • Remaining stationary with routine, unchanging assignments
  • Transferring issues to others without taking ownership or finding solutions

Key responsibilities

Maintain smooth, secure, and effective campus operations that continuously enhance the experience and satisfaction of students, staff, and parents.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in any discipline
  • A minimum of 1 year of professional experience in office coordination, facility support, site operations, or comparable operational capacity
  • Proficiency with fundamental technology troubleshooting, device oversight, and account management
  • Effective communication capabilities with the ability to interact professionally with parents, staff, students, and external partners
  • Capacity to juggle competing priorities while preserving accuracy and thoroughness
  • Commitment to working on-site at our Chantilly, VA location
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
