School Operations Coordinator   $75,000 USD/year

Description

LOCATION NOTE: This is an in-person position based at our Chantilly, VA campus.

You are the individual who ensures everything functions seamlessly. A well-run campus creates an environment where students feel secure, staff remain concentrated on their work, and parents maintain confidence in the institution. This level of operation is not accidental. It results from someone consistently managing hundreds of moving parts each day—with precision, urgency, and attentiveness.

Alpha is constructing one of the world's most forward-thinking school models. We integrate demanding academics, technology-driven learning, and elevated expectations for both students and staff. This position exists to ensure the operational side of campus meets the same standard we hold in our instructional spaces.

In this capacity, you control the operational pulse of the campus. Your responsibilities include community communication, campus security, facilities and logistics management, and daily technology administration. At any given moment, you might be organizing a safety drill, troubleshooting a device malfunction, onboarding a new team member, or responding to a parent inquiry. You are not simply maintaining operations—you are building trust.

This is a practical, on-campus position for someone who excels in fast-paced settings, maintains composure under pressure, and is committed to upholding a high standard of service. If you seek a role where your choices directly influence student safety, staff productivity, and parent confidence, this position provides genuine ownership and meaningful impact.

What you will be doing

  • Acting as a main contact for parents, students, and staff, delivering clear, prompt, and professional communication
  • Overseeing campus safety functions, including entry control, health-related incidents, emergency drills, record-keeping, and parent updates
  • Supervising daily campus functions such as attendance systems, facilities management, transportation coordination, and office operations
  • Assisting with onboarding and orientation for new employees to facilitate seamless integration into campus workflows
  • Administering student devices and campus technology, serving as the on-site tech contact and Google Administrator

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering classroom instruction or overseeing academic programming
  • Mentoring Guides or participating in curriculum design
  • Operating in a limited, single-task administrative capacity
  • Performing routine, unchanging duties from a stationary desk
  • Escalating issues without taking ownership or driving resolution

Key responsibilities

Maintain smooth, secure, and effective campus operations that continuously enhance the experience and satisfaction of students, staff, and parents.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in any field
  • At least 1 year of experience in office coordination, facilities support, site operations, or a similar operational role
  • Comfort with basic technology troubleshooting, device management, and account administration
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage parents, staff, students, and vendors professionally
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
  • Willingness to work on-site in Chantilly, VA
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
