Youth Development Coach   $60,000 USD/year

Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a hybrid position requiring in-person presence in Arizona.

Licensed teachers ready to step away from traditional school management and into transformative mentorship are encouraged to apply.

Imagine a role where lesson plans, lectures, and grading no longer define your day—where your focus shifts entirely to coaching young people toward confidence and capability.

Unbound Academy reimagines education through intentional design. This hybrid position supports a tuition-free, fully virtual Arizona charter school where worksheets give way to experiential learning and personal development takes priority. Students work through core academics independently via AI-powered platforms during two concentrated daily hours. The remainder of their schedule is dedicated to cultivating practical skills through facilitated workshops, personalized coaching, and exploratory activities.

Your responsibilities will not include delivering scripted content or monitoring a virtual classroom. Instead, you'll facilitate dynamic online sessions that push students to think critically, innovate, collaborate, and advance. Your mentorship will span storytelling, entrepreneurship, wellness, and analytical problem-solving, while nurturing independence, self-assurance, and executive functioning capabilities.

This position is not designed for educators attempting to transplant conventional schooling onto digital platforms. It is for licensed teachers prepared to relocate to Arizona, operate within a hybrid framework, and guide students in ways that genuinely equip them for life beyond academics. If you've moved past classroom administrative tasks and are prepared for the most impactful work of your professional life, continue reading.

  • Facilitating engaging virtual workshops centered on life competencies including communication, creativity, analytical thinking, and self-management
  • Providing one-on-one and small-group mentorship to cultivate student confidence, accountability, and executive functioning skills
  • Leveraging platform analytics and behavioral indicators to customize support and monitor long-term development
  • Working alongside fellow educators to design and iteratively refine project-based learning initiatives
  • Establishing a secure, energized atmosphere where students feel recognized, challenged, and inspired to develop

What you will NOT be doing

  • Instructing core academic content; adaptive AI tutors manage those subjects
  • Presenting scripted lessons or overseeing a conventional classroom structure
  • Evaluating worksheets, distributing homework, or developing standardized lesson plans

Key responsibilities

Facilitate student development and real-world preparedness by delivering impactful, experiential learning opportunities within a hybrid, fully virtual charter school environment.

Candidate requirements

  • Active U.S. teaching certificate from any state, or expired certificate qualifying for reinstatement, with eligibility for Arizona certification transfer
  • Demonstrated virtual facilitation skills and confidence engaging students through video platforms
  • Capability to fulfill hybrid role responsibilities in Arizona
