Student Success Coach   $60,000 USD/year

Description

IMPORTANT NOTE: This position requires a hybrid work arrangement with physical presence in Arizona.

We are seeking licensed educators prepared to transition from traditional school management to transformative mentorship.

Imagine a role where lesson plans, lectures, and grading no longer define your work—where your focus shifts entirely to guiding young people toward confidence and capability.

Unbound Academy has reimagined the teaching profession. This hybrid position supports a tuition-free Arizona virtual charter school that exchanges worksheets for experiential learning and centers student development. Core academics are completed independently by students in two concentrated hours daily using AI-powered platforms. Their remaining time is dedicated to cultivating practical competencies through facilitated workshops, coaching sessions, and exploratory activities.

Your role will not involve delivering predetermined lessons or monitoring a virtual classroom. Instead, you'll facilitate dynamic online sessions designed to push students to think critically, create purposefully, collaborate effectively, and evolve continuously. You'll guide them through storytelling, entrepreneurial thinking, wellness practices, and complex problem-solving while fostering independence, self-assurance, and executive function skills.

This opportunity is not intended for educators seeking to transpose traditional schooling onto digital platforms. It is designed for licensed teachers willing to establish residency in Arizona, embrace a hybrid model, and support students in ways that genuinely equip them for real-world success. If you have moved beyond classroom administration and are prepared for the most impactful work of your professional life, continue reading.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating engaging virtual workshops centered on essential life competencies including communication, creativity, analytical thinking, and self-management
  • Providing one-on-one and small-group mentorship to cultivate student confidence, accountability, and executive functioning capabilities
  • Leveraging platform analytics and student indicators to customize support strategies and monitor development trajectories
  • Working collaboratively with teaching colleagues to design and refine project-based learning frameworks
  • Establishing a supportive, energizing environment where students feel acknowledged, challenged, and inspired toward growth

What you will NOT be doing

  • Instructing core academic content; this is managed through adaptive AI tutoring systems
  • Presenting scripted lectures or operating within a conventional classroom structure
  • Evaluating worksheets, assigning traditional homework, or developing standardized lesson plans

Key responsibilities

Drive student development and life preparedness by facilitating transformative, practical learning experiences within a hybrid virtual school environment.

Candidate requirements

  • Available to begin at the end of July 2026
  • Valid U.S. teaching certificate from any state, or an expired certificate that qualifies for reinstatement, with the ability to transfer certification to Arizona
  • Demonstrated virtual facilitation skills and confidence leading students through video platforms
  • Capable of working in a hybrid capacity in Arizona
