Sports Mentor   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • $150,000 annual salary, distributed weekly. Full health, dental, and vision coverage begins on day one
  • Austin, TX (fully on-site)
  • Relocation assistance available

Competing at the elite level—whether as an Olympian, World Champion, or D1 First Team All-American—has taught you what it takes to win. The question is: can you turn that experience into concrete coaching methods that drive students to become high performers?

At Texas Sports Academy, your playing field shifts to developing champions—not from the sidelines, but through direct, hands-on coaching that pushes students past their perceived limits every single day. You won't simply recount your journey. You'll convert world-class athletic discipline into practical motivational tools, deliver resilience training via interactive workshops, and lead high-intensity sessions where every participant is held to championship expectations.

Austin provides year-round access to outdoor training facilities, a dynamic sports community, and a purpose-centered environment where your elite background becomes the cornerstone for mentoring tomorrow's leaders.

Coach with intention. Drive change through action. Apply today.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting proactive one-on-one coaching sessions where you transform your athletic discipline into concrete, actionable mentoring strategies
  • Facilitating high-energy morning assemblies that activate and inspire the entire student body
  • Delivering interactive life skills workshops where you guide students directly through exercises in resilience, leadership, and goal achievement
  • Overseeing structured afternoon sports training that embodies championship principles: creating drills, demanding effort, refining technique, and instilling grit and collaboration through athletics (not merely supervising recreational activity)
  • Engaging every student proactively throughout each day: moving through independent learning periods, stepping in to motivate students who are struggling, and seizing teachable moments that spark transformational thinking

What you will NOT be doing

  • Observing passively from the sidelines: this is not a symbolic coaching position. You'll be on the ground, directly engaging students, leading sessions, and making real-time interventions.
  • Delivering traditional classroom instruction or adhering to academic curricula: students use adaptive learning applications for academics. Your focus is life coaching, motivation, and teaching transferable skills through sport and direct mentorship.

Candidate requirements

  • We're looking for former elite-level athletes who have competed at the pinnacle of their sport — Olympians, World Champions, professional athletes from the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, or NHL, or NCAA Division I All-Americans
  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging sport to mentor and develop life skills in others
  • Proven track record of motivational leadership in athletic, academic, or professional contexts
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Willing to reside in or relocate to Austin, TX
