Sports Performance Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • $150,000 annually, with weekly pay. Full health, dental, and vision coverage starting day one
  • Austin, TX (on-site position)
  • Relocation assistance available

Competing at the elite level—whether as an Olympian, World Champion, or D1 First Team All-American—demands exceptional discipline. The question is: can you convert that experience into precise coaching methods that elevate students into top performers?

Your role at Texas Sports Academy is to build champions not from the sidelines, but through direct, daily coaching that drives students past their perceived boundaries. This isn't about storytelling. You'll convert elite-level athletic discipline into practical motivational tools, deliver resilience training via interactive workshops, and lead intense practice sessions where championship expectations are the standard for everyone.

Austin provides a year-round outdoor training environment, a dynamic sports community, and a purpose-centered setting where your world-class background serves as the cornerstone for developing tomorrow's leaders.

Lead with intention. Drive change through engagement. Submit your application today.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting proactive one-on-one coaching sessions where you convert athletic discipline into concrete, actionable strategies for student success
  • Delivering high-intensity morning assemblies that energize the full student population
  • Leading interactive life skills workshops where you coach students hands-on through exercises in resilience, leadership, and goal achievement
  • Overseeing structured afternoon sports training that exemplifies championship principles: creating drills, demanding maximum effort, refining technique, and instilling grit and collaboration through athletic activity (not merely supervising)
  • Maintaining active engagement with all students throughout each day: moving through the space during self-directed learning periods, stepping in to provide motivation when students struggle, and generating moments of insight that spark transformative thinking

What you will NOT be doing

  • Observing from the sidelines in a symbolic capacity: this role demands active floor presence, direct student engagement, session leadership, and real-time intervention.
  • Delivering conventional academic instruction or adhering to a set curriculum: students use adaptive learning applications for academics. Your focus is life coaching, motivation, and imparting meta-skills through athletics and mentorship.

Candidate requirements

  • We're looking for former elite-level athletes who have competed at the pinnacle of their sport — Olympians, World Champions, professional athletes in the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, or NHL, or NCAA Division I All-Americans
  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging sport as a vehicle for mentoring and coaching life skills
  • Proven track record of motivational leadership in athletic, academic, or professional contexts
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate to Austin, TX
