Sports Performance Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • $150,000 annual salary, distributed weekly. Full health, dental, and vision coverage from day one
  • Austin, TX (fully on-site)
  • Relocation assistance available

Competing at the elite level—as an Olympian, World Champion, or D1 First Team All-American—has taught you what it takes to succeed under pressure. The question is: can you apply those principles to coaching strategies that elevate students into top performers?

At Texas Sports Academy, your playing field shifts to developing champions. You won't watch from the sidelines. Instead, you'll coach directly, challenge students daily, and drive them past perceived barriers. Sharing your background is only the beginning. Your role is to convert elite-level discipline into practical motivation methods, deliver resilience training through interactive workshops, and lead intense training sessions where championship expectations are non-negotiable.

Austin provides a year-round climate for outdoor training, a vibrant athletic community, and a purpose-centered environment where your competitive experience serves as the blueprint for mentoring emerging leaders.

Lead with intention. Drive change through execution. Submit your application today.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting focused 1:1 coaching sessions where you transform your competitive background into concrete, executable coaching methods
  • Facilitating energized morning assemblies that activate the entire student population
  • Delivering interactive life skills workshops where you guide students hands-on through exercises in resilience, leadership, and goal achievement
  • Directing organized afternoon sports training that embodies elite standards: creating drills, demanding effort, refining technique, and instilling grit and collaboration through athletic practice (not merely overseeing activity)
  • Engaging proactively with each student across the day: moving through spaces during self-directed learning periods, stepping in to energize students who are struggling, and generating moments of insight that spark performance breakthroughs

What you will NOT be doing

  • Observing passively from a distance: this role demands active participation. You will be present on the ground, leading sessions, engaging directly with students, and making real-time adjustments.
  • Delivering conventional classroom instruction or adhering to set lesson plans: students advance through adaptive digital platforms. Your focus is on life coaching, motivation, and building meta-skills via athletics and mentorship.

Candidate requirements

  • We're looking for accomplished athletes who competed at the pinnacle of their sport — Olympians, World Champions, professional athletes from the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, or NHL, or NCAA Division I All-Americans
  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging athletics to mentor and develop life skills
  • Track record of motivational leadership in athletic, academic, or professional contexts
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Ready to reside in or move to Austin, TX
