Sports Performance Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • $150,000 annual salary, distributed weekly. Full health, dental, and vision coverage from day one
  • Based in Austin, TX (on-site position)
  • Relocation assistance available

Competing at elite levels—whether as an Olympian, World Champion, or NCAA Division I First Team All-American—has taught you what it takes to achieve mastery. The question is: can you translate that experience into concrete coaching methods that turn students into exceptional performers?

At Texas Sports Academy, your new challenge is developing champions not from the sidelines, but through direct, daily engagement that pushes students beyond their perceived boundaries. Sharing your journey is only the beginning. You'll convert elite-level athletic discipline into practical motivational tools, deliver resilience training through interactive workshops, and lead intensive practice sessions where championship expectations are the baseline for every participant.

Austin provides year-round access to outdoor training environments, a robust sports ecosystem, and a purpose-centered community where your elite background becomes the cornerstone for guiding emerging leaders.

Lead with intention. Drive change through execution. Submit your application today.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting targeted 1:1 coaching sessions where you convert your competitive athletic background into concrete, actionable motivational strategies
  • Leading dynamic morning assemblies designed to energize and engage the full student population
  • Delivering interactive workshops focused on life skills, actively guiding students through exercises in resilience, leadership, and goal achievement
  • Directing structured afternoon athletic training sessions that embody championship principles: creating drills, demanding maximum effort, refining technique, and instilling grit and collaboration through athletic activity (not mere supervision)
  • Maintaining proactive engagement with all students throughout each day: moving through spaces during independent study periods, intervening to energize students facing obstacles, and generating teaching opportunities that catalyze transformative thinking

What you will NOT be doing

  • Observing from a distance as a figurehead: this position requires active floor presence, direct student engagement, session leadership, and real-time intervention.
  • Delivering conventional academic instruction or adhering to set curricula: students utilize adaptive learning applications. Your focus is life coaching, motivational development, and teaching transferable skills through athletics and mentorship.

Candidate requirements

  • We're looking for former elite-level competitors who have achieved the pinnacle of athletic performance — Olympians, World Champions, professional athletes from the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, or NHL, or NCAA Division I All-Americans
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in any discipline
  • Demonstrated track record of using athletics as a vehicle for mentoring and teaching life competencies
  • Evidence of motivational leadership within athletic, educational, or corporate environments
  • Authorization to work legally in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Prepared to reside in or relocate to Austin, TX
