Youth Sports Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • $150,000 annually, distributed weekly. Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage begins on day one
  • Austin, TX (fully on-site)
  • Relocation assistance available

If you have competed at an elite level—Olympian, World Champion, Division I First Team All-American—you understand what it takes to achieve excellence. The question is whether you can convert that experience into concrete coaching methods that drive student performance and growth.

At Texas Sports Academy, your next challenge involves developing champions through direct coaching and daily engagement, not from the periphery. You will not simply recount your achievements. Instead, you will transform elite athletic principles into practical motivational tools, deliver resilience training through interactive workshops, and lead rigorous practice sessions where students are expected to meet championship-level standards.

Austin provides year-round outdoor training conditions, a robust sports culture, and a purpose-driven environment where your competitive background serves as the cornerstone for mentoring future leaders.

Lead with intention. Drive change through engagement. Apply today.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting proactive one-on-one coaching sessions where you convert your athletic discipline into concrete, actionable strategies for student development
  • Leading high-energy morning assemblies that activate and engage the full student population
  • Delivering hands-on workshops focused on life skills, where you guide students through exercises in resilience, leadership, and goal achievement
  • Directing structured afternoon athletic training sessions that embody championship principles: creating drills, demanding effort, refining technique, and instilling grit and collaboration through sport (not merely overseeing activity)
  • Actively engaging with every student throughout each day: moving through spaces during independent study periods, intervening to motivate when you observe a student struggling, and generating teachable moments that catalyze breakthrough performance

What you will NOT be doing

  • Observing from the sidelines in a symbolic capacity: this role demands active participation on the floor, direct student engagement, live session facilitation, and immediate intervention.
  • Delivering traditional academic instruction or adhering to set curricula: students utilize adaptive learning platforms for academics. Your focus is life coaching, motivation, and cultivating meta-skills through athletics and mentorship.

Candidate requirements

  • We are looking for former elite athletes with accomplishments at the highest competitive levels — Olympians, World Champions, professional athletes from the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, or NHL, or NCAA Division I All-Americans
  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • Documented experience leveraging sport to mentor and develop life skills in others
  • Established track record of motivational leadership in athletic, academic, or professional contexts
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate to Austin, TX
