Youth Sports Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • $150,000 annual salary, distributed weekly. Full health, dental, and vision coverage begins on day one
  • Austin, TX (in-person position)
  • Relocation assistance available

Elite competitors—Olympians, World Champions, NCAA Division I First Team All-Americans—understand what it takes to achieve at the highest level. The question is whether you can turn that experience into targeted coaching methods that develop students into exceptional performers.

Texas Sports Academy is where your competitive career evolves into a mission of building champions. This isn't about observing from the bench—it's about direct coaching and daily engagement that pushes students past their perceived boundaries. Your role goes beyond storytelling. You will convert elite-level athletic principles into practical motivation frameworks, deliver resilience training through interactive workshops, and lead demanding practice sessions where championship standards apply to everyone.

Austin provides a year-round outdoor training environment, a vibrant sports ecosystem, and a purpose-centered community where your competitive background becomes the engine for developing future leaders.

Lead with intention. Drive change through engagement. Submit your application today.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting individualized motivation coaching sessions where you convert your competitive discipline into concrete, implementable strategies
  • Delivering high-intensity morning sessions that activate and engage all students
  • Leading interactive workshops focused on life skills, where you guide students through exercises in resilience, leadership development, and goal formulation
  • Directing structured athletic training sessions in the afternoon that embody championship principles: creating drills, demanding maximum effort, refining technique, and instilling grit and collaboration through athletic activity (not simply overseeing recreation)
  • Maintaining active involvement with students all day: moving through the space during self-directed learning periods, stepping in to energize students who are struggling, and generating moments that catalyze new levels of performance

What you will NOT be doing

  • Observing passively from the perimeter: this role demands active participation. You will be on the ground, directly engaging students, facilitating sessions, and making real-time adjustments.
  • Delivering conventional classroom instruction or adhering to academic lesson plans: students work with adaptive learning technology. Your focus is life coaching, inspiration, and developing transferable skills through athletic mentorship and sport.

Candidate requirements

  • We're seeking former elite athletes who have proven themselves at the very top of sport — Olympians, World Champions, pro players in the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, or NHL, or NCAA Division I All-Americans
  • Bachelor's degree in any subject
  • Proven experience using sport to mentor and coach life skills
  • Demonstrated motivational leadership in athletic, academic, or professional settings
  • Legal right to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
  • Willing to live in or relocate to Austin, TX
