If you have performed at the pinnacle of sport—Olympic medalist, World Champion, NCAA Division I First Team All-American—you understand the rigor required to succeed. The question is whether you can convert that experience into concrete coaching methods that elevate students into top performers.

Texas Sports Academy represents your new competitive field: developing champions not from the sidelines, but through direct, daily coaching that drives students past their perceived boundaries. This is not about recounting your career. You will adapt elite-level athletic discipline into practical motivational tools, deliver resilience-building workshops, and lead intensive training sessions where championship standards apply to every participant.

Austin provides year-round access to outdoor training facilities, a dynamic sports ecosystem, and a purpose-centered environment where your competitive background fuels the development of emerging leaders.

Lead with intention. Drive transformation through action. Submit your application today.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting targeted 1:1 coaching sessions where you convert your competitive discipline into concrete, executable coaching techniques
  • Delivering high-impact morning assemblies that activate the entire student community
  • Leading interactive life skills workshops in which you actively guide students through exercises in resilience, leadership, and goal achievement
  • Directing structured afternoon athletic training sessions that embody championship principles: creating drills, demanding effort, refining technique, and instilling grit and collaboration through sport (not merely overseeing activity)
  • Engaging proactively with every student across the day: moving through independent study periods, stepping in to inspire when a student encounters difficulty, and seizing teachable moments that catalyze breakthrough performance

What you will NOT be doing

  • Observing from the sidelines in a symbolic capacity: this is not a figurehead position. You are present on the floor, directly engaging students, facilitating sessions, and intervening as situations unfold.
  • Delivering conventional academic instruction or adhering to a set curriculum: students engage with content through adaptive software. Your responsibility is life coaching, motivation, and developing meta-skills via sport and mentorship.

Candidate requirements

  • We're seeking former elite athletes who have proven themselves at the very top of sport — Olympians, World Champions, pro players in the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, or NHL, or NCAA Division I All-Americans
  • Bachelor's degree in any subject
  • Proven experience using sport to mentor and coach life skills
  • Demonstrated motivational leadership in athletic, academic, or professional settings
  • Legal right to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
  • Willing to live in or relocate to Austin, TX
