Elite Sports Mentor   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • $150,000 annual salary, distributed weekly. Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage begins on your first day
  • On-site position in Austin, TX
  • Relocation assistance available

Competing at the elite level—whether as an Olympian, World Champion, or NCAA Division I First Team All-American—has taught you what it takes to succeed under pressure. The question is: can you convert that experience into concrete coaching methods that drive students to excellence?

Texas Sports Academy is where your competitive career evolves into a leadership mission. You won't observe from the margins. Instead, you'll actively coach students daily, applying the principles of elite performance to push them past perceived boundaries. This isn't about recounting past victories—it's about converting championship-level discipline into hands-on motivation frameworks, teaching mental toughness through interactive workshops, and leading rigorous training sessions where every participant is held to the highest standards.

Austin provides an ideal setting: year-round access to outdoor facilities, a dynamic sports community, and a purpose-focused environment where your competitive background becomes the cornerstone of developing tomorrow's leaders.

Lead with intention. Drive real change. Submit your application today.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting individualized motivation sessions where you apply your competitive experience to deliver concrete, results-oriented coaching
  • Directing dynamic morning assemblies designed to energize and engage the full student population
  • Leading interactive workshops focused on essential life competencies—resilience, leadership, goal achievement—where you actively guide students through practical exercises
  • Overseeing structured athletic training sessions that embody elite standards: creating practice drills, demanding maximum effort, refining technique, and instilling perseverance and collaboration through athletic activity (far beyond simple supervision)
  • Maintaining active engagement with all students during the day: moving through learning spaces during independent work periods, stepping in to inspire when challenges arise, and seizing opportunities to catalyze transformative insights

What you will NOT be doing

  • Watching from the periphery: this role demands full participation. You'll be directly involved with students, leading sessions, and making real-time interventions—not serving as a figurehead.
  • Delivering conventional classroom instruction or adhering to academic lesson plans: students use adaptive digital platforms for academics. Your focus is life coaching, inspiration, and developing transferable skills through athletic mentorship and direct engagement.

Candidate requirements

  • We're seeking former elite athletes who have proven themselves at the very top of sport — Olympians, World Champions, pro players in the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, or NHL, or NCAA Division I All-Americans
  • Bachelor's degree in any subject
  • Proven experience using sport to mentor and coach life skills
  • Demonstrated motivational leadership in athletic, academic, or professional settings
  • Legal right to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
  • Willing to live in or relocate to Austin, TX
