Athletics Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • $150,000 annual salary, distributed weekly. Health, dental, and vision coverage begins immediately
  • Based on-site in Austin, TX
  • Relocation assistance available

If you've reached the pinnacle of athletic competition—Olympic Games, World Championships, or D1 First Team All-American honors—you understand what it takes to succeed at the highest level. The question is: can you convert that experience into concrete coaching methods that drive student achievement?

Texas Sports Academy offers a platform where your next challenge is developing champions—not from the sidelines, but through direct, daily coaching that pushes students beyond perceived boundaries. Your role extends beyond sharing your journey. You'll apply elite performance principles to create actionable motivational frameworks, deliver resilience training through interactive workshops, and lead rigorous practice sessions where championship expectations define the standard.

Austin provides year-round access to outdoor training facilities, a dynamic sports community, and a purpose-oriented environment where your competitive background becomes the cornerstone for developing future leaders.

Lead with intention. Drive real change. Submit your application today.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting individualized motivation sessions where you convert your competitive discipline into concrete, practical coaching methodologies
  • Directing high-impact morning assemblies that activate and inspire the full student population
  • Delivering interactive life skills workshops where you guide students through applied exercises in resilience, leadership development, and strategic goal-setting
  • Overseeing structured afternoon athletic training that embodies championship principles: creating drill sequences, challenging effort levels, refining technique, and instilling grit and collaboration through athletic practice (beyond simple supervision)
  • Maintaining active engagement with all students throughout each day: moving through spaces during self-directed learning periods, intervening to energize students facing obstacles, and generating pivotal learning moments that produce breakthrough progress

What you will NOT be doing

  • Observing from the periphery as a ceremonial figure: this position demands floor presence, direct student interaction, session leadership, and real-time intervention.
  • Delivering conventional academic instruction or adhering to prescribed curricula: students engage with adaptive learning technology. Your focus centers on life coaching, motivational development, and teaching transferable skills through athletics and mentorship.

Candidate requirements

  • We're looking for former elite-level athletes with credentials at the highest tier of competition — Olympians, World Champions, professional athletes from the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, or NHL, or NCAA Division I All-Americans
  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • Documented experience applying athletic principles to mentor and develop life skills
  • Confirmed track record of motivational leadership in athletic, educational, or professional environments
  • Authorization to work legally in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Ready to reside in or relocate to Austin, TX
