Athletics Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • $150,000 annually, distributed weekly. Full health, dental, and vision coverage from day one
  • Austin, TX (fully on-site)
  • Relocation assistance available

Competing at the elite level—as an Olympian, World Champion, or D1 First Team All-American—has taught you what it takes to win. Now the question is: can you convert those championship principles into concrete coaching methods that elevate students into top performers?

At Texas Sports Academy, your next challenge is developing champions not from the sidelines, but through direct, daily coaching that drives students past their perceived boundaries. This isn't about recounting past victories. It's about converting elite athletic mindset into practical motivational tools, building resilience through immersive workshops, and leading intense training sessions where every participant is held to elite standards.

Austin provides year-round outdoor training conditions, a dynamic sports ecosystem, and a purpose-led environment where your championship background becomes the cornerstone for mentoring emerging leaders.

Lead with intention. Drive transformation. Apply today.

What you will be doing

  • Conducting focused 1:1 coaching sessions where you convert your competitive discipline into concrete, executable strategies for student growth
  • Facilitating energized morning assemblies that activate and engage the full student community
  • Delivering interactive life skills workshops where you directly coach students through exercises in resilience, leadership development, and goal achievement
  • Directing structured afternoon athletic training that embodies elite standards: creating drills, demanding maximum effort, refining technique, and instilling grit and collaboration through sport (not merely overseeing activities)
  • Engaging proactively with all students across the day: moving through independent study periods, stepping in to motivate when challenges arise, and seizing teachable opportunities that spark transformative insights

What you will NOT be doing

  • Observing from the sidelines in a ceremonial capacity: this is an active coaching position. You're present, leading sessions, engaging directly with students, and making real-time interventions.
  • Delivering conventional academic instruction or adhering to traditional curricula: students engage with adaptive learning platforms. Your focus is life coaching, motivation, and imparting meta-skills through athletics and mentorship.

Candidate requirements

  • We're seeking former elite athletes who have competed at the highest level — Olympians, World Champions, professional athletes from the NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS, or NHL, or NCAA Division I All-Americans
  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging athletics to mentor and develop life skills
  • Proven track record of motivational leadership within athletic, academic, or professional contexts
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate to Austin, TX
