Experiential Education Facilitator   $100,000 USD/year

Description

  • On-campus role in Dripping Springs (greater Austin), TX
  • $100,000 annual salary, distributed weekly. Full health, dental, and vision coverage from day one
  • Relocating? We provide support

Waypoint Academy is redefining education by replacing traditional classroom instruction with adventure-driven life skills and AI-powered personalized academics. Here, students don't remain seated while you lecture—they develop public speaking abilities on outdoor trails, cultivate leadership through collaborative challenges, and progress at twice the standard pace using adaptive learning technology.

This role is not conventional teaching. You will coach K-12 students to unlock their capabilities through outdoor experiential workshops and one-on-one motivational sessions. You'll facilitate nature-immersed activities that develop concrete skills—focus, communication, collaboration—rather than deliver standard curriculum. High achievers who envision a fundamentally reimagined school model excel in this environment. You will witness students evolve from disengaged learners into self-assured performers, with measurable results visible immediately.

Dripping Springs delivers Texas Hill Country scenery just 30 minutes from Austin's technology hub, live music venues, and culinary landscape. Over 300 sunny days annually, proximity to Barton Springs, and year-round outdoor recreation.

Guide the transformation. Facilitate the experience. Submit your application today.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating 1-hour outdoor life-skills sessions (public speaking, focus, leadership, collaboration) using nature-based challenges and adventure-oriented activities
  • Conducting brief, results-focused motivational coaching where you guide students toward academic targets using adaptive learning software
  • Animating curriculum through storytelling, personalization, and dynamic energy that sustains high engagement among K-12 learners
  • Implementing safety standards and outdoor decision-making (route selection, weather monitoring, equipment inspection, Leave No Trace principles) according to Waypoint's operational guidelines
  • Evaluating skill acquisition where students demonstrate their ability to transfer the life skill to authentic real-world situations
  • Maintaining rigorous standards of excellence while serving as an approachable, motivating role model students genuinely respect

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline
  • At least 3 years of documented experience with K-12 students in educational settings, camps, coaching environments, or outdoor programming
  • Demonstrated history of high performance (in academics, athletics, or professional contexts)
  • Strong public speaking capability with the ability to energize and maintain attention across large student groups, both indoors and outdoors
  • Innate capacity to connect with K-12 learners, their interests, and cultural context—not as a peer, but as a constructive role model who challenges them to advance
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
  • Commitment to in-person work at Waypoint Academy's Dripping Springs, TX campus (Austin vicinity)
