Reading success for young learners may depend on connecting with their existing world: gaming culture, where progression, determination, and skill-building are familiar and rewarding.

You will design and facilitate small-group literacy sessions at a school centered on the passions of young gamers, combining phonics-based teaching, adaptive reading technology, and direct coaching to help K-2 learners develop the same enthusiasm for reading that they bring to gameplay.

Austin delivers live music, mild winters, scenic hill country paths, and a dynamic education innovation community you will join.

Drive literacy. Grow daily. Apply today.

  • Modify teaching methods in the moment according to student responses, group proficiency levels, and attention signals
  • Conduct motivational sessions with students to promote progress in adaptive reading applications and reach literacy milestones
  • Track student performance metrics from adaptive platforms and apply insights to customize instruction for each reading cohort
  • Employ storytelling, humor, gaming comparisons, and affirming feedback to sustain student effort and address reluctance
