In most weeks, you'll facilitate high-impact intervention sessions. In others, you'll conduct brief motivation check-ins that keep learners focused and reaching their goals. This position is well-suited to individuals who value independence, rapid feedback cycles, and visible results. It's not for those seeking rigid scripts or who avoid working with data.

What you will be doing

  • Plan and conduct virtual small-group and individual reading intervention sessions for learners in grades 3–8
  • Leverage reading assessment data to identify fluency and comprehension gaps and modify instruction rapidly
  • Differentiate learning activities across varied reading levels, including accommodations for dyslexia and associated reading challenges
  • Monitor progress in a transparent, systematic manner and apply the data to inform upcoming sessions
  • Facilitate structured motivation check-ins that foster confidence, perseverance, and pride in development

What you will NOT be doing

  • Deliver large, whole-class lessons or present from a static curriculum
  • Adhere to a pre-scripted program without responding to student needs and immediate feedback
  • Serve as a passive "software monitor" lacking meaningful instruction and personal connection
  • Depend on superficial rewards that fail to cultivate enduring motivation

Key responsibilities

Take ownership of outcomes for grades 3–8—quantifiable improvements in fluency and comprehension—by providing customized virtual interventions and motivation support that fosters confidence.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, or a closely related field
  • Reading intervention certification or endorsement (e.g., Arizona Reading Specialist K-12 or equivalent state certification)
  • Specialized training or certification in dyslexia intervention (or related structured literacy approaches)
  • At least 2 years of experience delivering small-group or one-on-one reading interventions for students in grades 3–8
  • Experience supporting students with dyslexia or related reading difficulties
  • Ability to interpret progress monitoring data and use it to plan and adjust instruction
  • Strong ability to engage and manage students in a virtual setting through clear, motivating communication
  • Available to work in a hybrid capacity in Arizona as needed.
