In a typical week, you'll facilitate high-impact intervention sessions. The remainder of your time will be spent conducting brief motivation check-ins that maintain student momentum and goal achievement. This position is ideal for those who value independence, rapid feedback cycles, and visible results. It's not suited to anyone seeking a rigid template or who avoids working with data.

What you will be doing
- Plan and facilitate virtual small-group and individual reading intervention sessions for learners in grades 3–8
- Utilize reading assessment data to identify fluency and comprehension deficits and modify instruction in real time
- Adapt instructional activities across varied reading levels, including accommodations for dyslexia and associated reading challenges
- Monitor student progress with clear, systematic methods and apply findings to inform subsequent sessions
- Conduct structured motivation check-ins that foster confidence, persistence, and pride in student development
What you will NOT be doing
- Deliver large, whole-class instruction or present from a static curriculum
- Execute a pre-written program without responding to individual student needs and immediate feedback
- Serve as a passive "technology supervisor" lacking genuine instruction and relationship-building
- Depend on superficial incentives that fail to cultivate enduring motivation
Key responsibilities
Take ownership of outcomes for grades 3–8—quantifiable improvements in fluency and comprehension—through the delivery of customized virtual interventions and motivational support that develops confidence.
Candidate requirements
- Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, or a closely related field
- Reading intervention certification or endorsement (e.g., Arizona Reading Specialist K-12 or equivalent state certification)
- Specialized training or certification in dyslexia intervention (or related structured literacy approaches)
- At least 2 years of experience delivering small-group or one-on-one reading interventions for students in grades 3–8
- Experience supporting students with dyslexia or related reading difficulties
- Ability to interpret progress monitoring data and use it to plan and adjust instruction
- Strong ability to engage and manage students in a virtual setting through clear, motivating communication
- Available to work in a hybrid capacity in Arizona as needed.
