In most weeks, you'll deliver high-impact intervention sessions. The remainder, you'll facilitate brief motivation check-ins that maintain momentum and support goal achievement. This position fits people who value autonomy, immediate feedback loops, and visible results. It's not suited for anyone seeking a rigid script or uncomfortable with data-driven instruction.

What you will be doing

  • Plan and facilitate virtual small-group and individual reading intervention sessions for students in grades 3–8
  • Analyze reading assessment data to identify fluency and comprehension gaps and modify instruction in real time
  • Adapt activities across varied reading levels, including accommodations for dyslexia and associated reading challenges
  • Monitor progress systematically and consistently, using the data to inform subsequent sessions
  • Facilitate structured motivation check-ins that cultivate confidence, persistence, and pride in measurable growth

What you will NOT be doing

  • Deliver large, whole-class lessons or present from a rigid curriculum
  • Execute a pre-scripted program without responding to individual student needs and live feedback
  • Serve as a passive "software monitor" without providing meaningful instruction and relationship
  • Depend on superficial rewards that fail to foster durable motivation

Key responsibilities

Take ownership of outcomes for grades 3–8—documented improvements in fluency and comprehension—by providing tailored virtual interventions and motivation support that strengthens confidence.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, or a closely related field
  • Reading intervention certification or endorsement (e.g., Arizona Reading Specialist K-12 or equivalent state certification)
  • Specialized training or certification in dyslexia intervention (or related structured literacy approaches)
  • At least 2 years of experience delivering small-group or one-on-one reading interventions for students in grades 3–8
  • Experience supporting students with dyslexia or related reading difficulties
  • Ability to interpret progress monitoring data and use it to plan and adjust instruction
  • Strong ability to engage and manage students in a virtual setting through clear, motivating communication
  • Available to work in a hybrid capacity in Arizona as needed.
