Long-term role

School Operations Manager   $75,000 USD/year

Description

LOCATION NOTE: This is an in-person role located at one of our campuses.

A well-run campus operates invisibly. A poorly run one disrupts everything. This role ensures Alpha campuses function with safety, consistency, and assurance—day in and day out.

Alpha is constructing one of the world's most ambitious educational frameworks. Our classrooms operate at speed. Our expectations are elevated. That demands campus operations that are structured, agile, and designed for growth. This role is accountable for everything beyond the classroom that enables students and Guides to excel.

In this position, you serve as the operational foundation of the campus. You handle parent and staff communications, manage safety and security protocols, maintain smooth facilities and logistics, and ensure reliable technology access for students and staff. You intervene when systems fail, foresee challenges before they grow, and impose calm order on fluid scenarios.

This is not a limited support position. It is a hands-on, prominent role for someone energized by accountability, diversity of task, and execution. If you seek work where your choices directly influence student safety, staff performance, and parent confidence, this role delivers genuine ownership and responsibility.

What you will be doing

  • Serving as a key contact for parents, students, and staff to deliver timely, clear, and professional communication
  • Overseeing campus safety functions including entry management, health events, emergency drills, record-keeping, and parent notifications
  • Managing daily campus logistics including attendance systems, transportation planning, facilities oversight, and office coordination
  • Assisting with onboarding and orientation of new staff to guarantee operational preparedness from the outset
  • Administering student devices and campus technology, functioning as the on-site Google Administrator and technology point of contact

What you will NOT be doing

  • Delivering classroom instruction or providing academic support
  • Mentoring Guides or influencing curriculum design
  • Functioning in a strictly clerical or tightly limited capacity
  • Working in a static or entirely predictable setting
  • Escalating unsolved issues to others rather than taking ownership of results

Key responsibilities

Sustain safe, effective, and dependable campus operations that continuously enhance the experience of students, staff, and parents.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (field of study not specified)
  • At least 1 year of experience in office coordination, facilities support, site operations, or similar operational roles
  • Comfort with basic technology tasks including device setup, troubleshooting, and account administration
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across parents, staff, and vendors
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • Must be available to work in person in Piedmont, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Lake Forest, CA or Chicago, IL.
