Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • On-site position in Dorado, Puerto Rico
  • Annual compensation of 150,000 USD, distributed weekly

If conventional schooling no longer challenges you and you are unwilling to compromise standards for comfort, this opportunity will stand apart. You will guide children and adults toward rigorous goals using evidence and defined benchmarks—not traditional instruction or prepared lessons.

Alpha School is developing an AI-driven framework in which students achieve mastery of essential academics in only two hours each day, dedicating their afternoons to cultivating practical life competencies. Our commitment is clear and exacting: students thrive at school, progress at twice the rate of their peers, and develop foundational life capabilities. This position ensures that commitment becomes reality for every K–8 learner on our Dorado site.

You will remain directly engaged. You will deliver one-hour life skills sessions, facilitate structured motivation activities that propel students through academic platforms, and provide Guides with explicit feedback and actionable development steps. This is neither a conventional teaching position nor a detached administrative function. You will answer for results, adherence to established protocols, and unrelenting expectations.

If you are prepared to lead by example and cultivate a campus environment where achievement is earned through discipline, submit your application and demonstrate how you uphold excellence without compromise.

What you will be doing

  • Lead one-hour life skills sessions for K–8 learners by preparing and executing exercises precisely according to established playbooks
  • Conduct structured motivation activities that drive students to progress in academic applications and reach defined targets
  • Monitor Guides during execution and provide standards-anchored coaching with explicit improvement directives and consistent follow-up
  • Apply objective, evidence-based assessment to maintain mastery benchmarks, even in challenging circumstances
  • Work closely with on-campus personnel daily to guarantee uniform fulfillment of Alpha's 3 Promises

What you will NOT be doing

  • Deliver or tutor academic material using traditional classroom methods
  • Develop lesson plans or create instructional content
  • Deviate from or adapt workshops outside of prescribed playbooks
  • Compromise mastery expectations or adjust targets to produce artificial outcomes
  • Manage from an office through paperwork while others engage directly with students

Key responsibilities

Ensure that every K–8 student at Alpha's Dorado campus reliably experiences Alpha's 3 Promises: they love school, learn 2× faster, and build life skills.

Candidate requirements

  • Legal authorization to work in Puerto Rico
  • Capacity to work full-time on-site at the Dorado, Puerto Rico campus
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of applicable experience coaching individuals to demanding objectives
  • Background working with children ages 5–14 in coaching, motivation, or youth development contexts
  • Experience guiding or directing adult performance using explicit standards and accountability frameworks
  • Effective verbal communication capability for K–8 populations
  • Data-informed decision-making proficiency (leveraging metrics and analytics to establish direction and enforce standards)
  • High-expectations orientation with readiness to deliver direct feedback and sustain goals without exception
