Leadership Coach   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • Onsite position in Dorado, Puerto Rico
  • Annual salary of 150,000 USD, disbursed weekly

If conventional schooling no longer challenges you and you reject the idea of lowering standards to avoid conflict, this opportunity will stand apart. You will guide children and adults toward ambitious goals through data and defined benchmarks—not through traditional lectures or lesson plans.

Alpha School is constructing an AI-driven educational model in which students complete core academic work in only two hours per day, dedicating their afternoons to developing practical life competencies. Our commitment is straightforward and rigorous: students enjoy school, accelerate learning at twice the rate of their peers, and cultivate essential life skills. This position ensures that commitment is fulfilled for every K–8 student at our Dorado location.

You will remain directly engaged. You will deliver one-hour life skills sessions, facilitate structured motivation meetings that advance students through academic applications, and provide Guides with pointed feedback and actionable improvement steps. This is neither a conventional teaching position nor a detached leadership assignment. You will be responsible for results, adherence to established protocols, and maintaining uncompromising benchmarks.

If you are prepared to lead by example and establish a campus environment where achievement is earned through rigor, submit your application and demonstrate how you uphold high expectations without exception.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver one-hour life skills sessions for K–8 students by preparing and implementing activities in strict accordance with playbooks
  • Conduct structured motivation meetings designed to drive students forward in academic applications and achieve defined targets
  • Observe Guides during execution and provide standards-based coaching that includes specific improvement actions and accountability for follow-up
  • Apply objective, metrics-informed judgment to maintain mastery benchmarks, even in challenging circumstances
  • Work closely with campus staff on a daily basis to ensure reliable execution of Alpha's 3 Promises

What you will NOT be doing

  • Deliver or tutor academic subjects in a conventional classroom setting
  • Create lesson plans or develop curriculum materials
  • Deviate from established playbooks or improvise workshop content
  • Compromise mastery benchmarks or adjust goals to create superficial success
  • Manage from behind a desk through administrative tasks while others engage directly with students

Key responsibilities

Ensure that every K–8 student at Alpha's Dorado campus reliably experiences Alpha's 3 Promises: they love school, learn 2× faster, and build life skills.

Candidate requirements

  • Authorization to work in Puerto Rico
  • Capacity to work full-time onsite at the Dorado, Puerto Rico campus
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of applicable experience coaching individuals to ambitious goals
  • Background working with children ages 5–14 in coaching, motivation, or youth development contexts
  • Track record coaching or directing adult performance using clear benchmarks and accountability structures
  • Strong verbal communication ability tailored to K–8 audiences
  • Data-informed decision-making capability (leveraging metrics and analytics to establish direction and uphold standards)
  • High-standards orientation with confidence delivering direct feedback and maintaining goals without compromise
