Description

  • On-site in Dorado, Puerto Rico
  • $150,000 annual salary, paid weekly

If you have moved beyond conventional education and refuse to compromise standards for comfort, this position will represent a meaningful departure. You will guide students and adults toward challenging objectives, relying on metrics and explicit benchmarks rather than lectures or traditional pedagogy.

Alpha School is developing an AI-enabled framework in which students complete foundational academics in two hours daily, then dedicate afternoons to cultivating practical life competencies. Our commitment is both straightforward and rigorous: students enjoy school, accelerate learning at twice the rate of peers, and develop essential life skills. This role ensures that commitment is delivered consistently for every K–8 student at our Dorado location.

You will maintain direct involvement. You will deliver one-hour life skills sessions, facilitate structured motivation experiences that advance student progress in learning applications, and provide Guides with actionable feedback and specific performance improvements. This is neither a conventional teaching position nor a passive supervisory function. You will answer for results, adherence to operational protocols, and unwavering expectations.

If you are prepared to lead with visibility and establish a campus culture where outcomes are achieved through effort, submit your application and demonstrate your ability to sustain rigorous standards without justification.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver one-hour life skills sessions for K–8 students by preparing and implementing activities in precise alignment with playbooks
  • Facilitate structured motivation experiences that encourage students to progress in academic applications and achieve milestones
  • Monitor Guides during delivery and provide standards-aligned coaching with explicit improvement steps and accountability
  • Apply objective, metrics-based judgment to maintain mastery expectations, even when difficult
  • Work closely with on-site campus personnel to ensure reliable execution of Alpha's 3 Promises

What you will NOT be doing

  • Deliver or tutor academic subjects using traditional classroom methods
  • Develop lesson plans or create curriculum materials
  • Deviate from structured playbooks or improvise session content
  • Compromise mastery benchmarks or adjust goals to simulate achievement
  • Manage from an administrative distance while others engage directly with students

Key responsibilities

Ensure that each K–8 student at Alpha's Dorado campus reliably experiences Alpha's 3 Promises: they enjoy school, learn at twice the speed, and develop life skills.

Candidate requirements

  • Authorization to work in Puerto Rico
  • Capacity to work full-time on-site at the Dorado, Puerto Rico campus
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of applicable experience coaching individuals toward ambitious objectives
  • Experience engaging with children ages 5–14 in coaching, motivation, or youth development contexts
  • Experience coaching or guiding adult performance with defined standards and accountability measures
  • Effective verbal communication skills for K–8 audiences
  • Data-informed decision-making capability (leveraging metrics and analytics to guide actions and maintain expectations)
  • High-standards orientation with confidence delivering direct feedback and sustaining goals without exception
