Alpha School is developing an AI-driven educational framework in which students complete core academics in two hours daily, then dedicate afternoons to developing practical life competencies. Our commitment is straightforward and rigorous: students enjoy school, achieve learning velocity 2× that of peers, and develop real-world skills. This position ensures that commitment becomes reality for every K–8 learner at our Dorado location.
You will maintain direct involvement. You will facilitate one-hour life skills sessions, conduct structured motivational meetings that advance student progress in academic applications, and provide Guides with specific feedback and actionable improvement steps. This is neither a conventional teaching position nor a remote leadership assignment. You will own results, adherence to protocols, and unrelenting standards.

What you will be doing
- Deliver one-hour life skills sessions for K–8 learners by preparing and executing activities precisely according to playbooks
- Conduct structured motivational meetings that drive students to progress in academic apps and reach targets
- Monitor Guides during execution and provide standards-aligned coaching with explicit improvement actions and accountability
- Apply objective, metrics-based judgment to maintain mastery standards, even in challenging situations
- Work daily alongside campus personnel to guarantee consistent execution of Alpha's 3 Promises
What you will NOT be doing
- Deliver or tutor academic subject matter in traditional classroom settings
- Develop lesson plans or create curriculum materials
- Deviate from established playbooks or improvise session content
- Compromise mastery benchmarks or adjust goals to artificially produce "success"
- Manage from behind a desk through administrative tasks while others engage directly with students
Key responsibilities
Ensure that every K–8 student at Alpha's Dorado campus reliably experiences Alpha's 3 Promises: they love school, learn 2× faster, and build life skills.
Candidate requirements
- Authorized to work in Puerto Rico
- Capacity to work full-time on-site at the Dorado, Puerto Rico campus
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of relevant experience coaching individuals to ambitious outcomes
- Experience working with children ages 5–14 in coaching, motivational, or youth development contexts
- Experience coaching or directing adult performance using clear standards and accountability
- Strong verbal communication abilities for K–8 audiences
- Data-driven decision-making capability (leveraging metrics/analytics to establish direction and maintain standards)
- High-standards orientation with comfort delivering direct feedback and sustaining goals without compromise
