Educational Consultant   $150,000 USD/year

Description

  • Onsite position in Dorado, Puerto Rico
  • $150,000 annual salary, paid weekly

If you have moved beyond conventional schooling and refuse to compromise standards for comfort, this opportunity will stand out. You will guide students and adults toward ambitious goals using clear benchmarks and data, not traditional lectures or curriculum plans.

Alpha School is developing an AI-enhanced model in which students complete core academics in only two hours per day, dedicating afternoons to developing practical life skills. Our commitment is both straightforward and rigorous: students enjoy school, learn twice as fast as their peers, and acquire life skills. This position ensures that commitment is fulfilled for every K–8 student at our Dorado campus.

You will remain directly involved. You will deliver one-hour life skills workshops, conduct structured motivation sessions that advance students through academic applications, and provide Guides with explicit feedback and actionable improvement steps. This is neither a conventional teaching position nor a detached leadership role. You will be held accountable for results, adherence to established playbooks, and maintaining uncompromising standards.

If you are prepared to lead actively and establish a campus culture where outcomes are achieved through rigor, apply and demonstrate how you uphold high expectations without exception.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver one-hour life skills workshops for K–8 students by preparing and executing activities precisely according to playbooks
  • Conduct structured motivation sessions designed to drive student progress in academic apps and achievement of goals
  • Observe Guides during instruction and provide standards-based coaching with specific improvement actions and accountability for follow-through
  • Apply objective, data-informed judgment to maintain mastery standards, even in challenging situations
  • Work daily with campus staff to guarantee consistent execution of Alpha's 3 Promises

What you will NOT be doing

  • Deliver or tutor academic content using traditional classroom teaching methods
  • Develop lesson plans or create curriculum materials
  • Deviate from established playbooks or improvise workshop content
  • Compromise mastery standards or adjust goals downward to create artificial "success"
  • Manage from behind a desk through administrative tasks while others engage directly with students

Key responsibilities

Ensure that every K–8 student at Alpha's Dorado campus consistently receives Alpha's 3 Promises: they love school, learn 2× faster, and build life skills.

Candidate requirements

  • Authorized to work in Puerto Rico
  • Available to work full-time onsite at the Dorado, Puerto Rico campus
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of relevant experience coaching individuals to ambitious outcomes
  • Experience working with children ages 5–14 in coaching, motivation, or youth development contexts
  • Experience coaching or managing adult performance with defined standards and accountability
  • Strong verbal communication skills appropriate for K–8 audiences
  • Data-driven decision-making capability (leveraging metrics and analytics to establish direction and maintain standards)
  • High-standards mindset with comfort providing direct feedback and maintaining goals without compromise
