Senior Admissions Counselor   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Most enrollment positions are designed to drive numbers. This one is designed to uphold standards.

Alpha is developing one of the world's most ambitious educational models. Our campuses integrate rigorous academics, technology-driven learning, and high expectations for both students and staff. Students routinely learn at rates exceeding national benchmarks, supported by measurable data. Afternoons are dedicated to depth, independence, and practical skill development. The model is effective. But it depends entirely on enrolling the right families.

This is where your role begins.

You will manage the complete enrollment process for a campus, starting with initial inquiry and concluding with onboarding. This is not a role with handoffs. You are accountable for the family's experience, their understanding of the model, and whether enrollment decisions are grounded in the correct motivations. You will evaluate fit, facilitate meaningful discussions, and recommend against enrollment when that is the appropriate course of action. The objective is not volume. The objective is alignment.

We welcome candidates from premium service backgrounds outside conventional education: selective private schools, competitive programs, high-end hospitality, executive assistance, exclusive membership organizations, or entrepreneurial leaders who have personally overseen high-value client experiences from start to finish. What counts is your capacity to execute a high-touch, multi-phase process with sound judgment, precision, and accountability.

If your career has been built on delivering white-glove experiences where trust, discretion, and quality define the brand, this role will resonate with you—applied to work that produces measurable outcomes.

This is a full-time, salaried, on-campus position. We are hiring in Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, San Francisco, Palo Alto, Piedmont, Palm Beach, Charlotte, and Raleigh. Relocation assistance is provided.

What you will be doing

  • Managing the complete enrollment experience for prospective families, from initial contact to final onboarding.
  • Facilitating needs-based conversations to assess alignment before proposing solutions or guiding next steps.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family relationships across various stages of enrollment, with transparent tracking and timely follow-up.
  • Guiding campus tours, shadow day experiences, and decision-making discussions that articulate outcomes, expectations, and the ideal candidate profile.
  • Ensuring accurate data entry and records in CRM and student information systems (HubSpot and SIS) to enable forecasting, prioritization, and sustained service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Applying transactional or high-pressure sales methods.
  • Accepting families who are not aligned with the model solely to meet enrollment targets.
  • Overseeing a large team or navigating complex approval hierarchies.
  • Transferring ownership of the family relationship across multiple departments or roles.
  • Operating remotely. This role is intentionally campus-based.

Key responsibilities

Execute and own a high-trust, selective enrollment process that enrolls aligned families while safeguarding the integrity and academic performance of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, personalized service in contexts where service quality directly shapes brand perception (education, luxury hospitality, executive support, premium membership organizations, or owner-operated services).
  • Proven ownership of a full-cycle client, admissions, or enrollment process from first interaction through onboarding completion.
  • Experience managing 20+ concurrent client, guest, or family relationships at varying stages, supported by a structured tracking and prioritization system.
  • Capacity to provide specific examples of consultative decision-making, including instances where you advised against your own product or service due to poor fit.
  • Professional written communication with senior executives, high-net-worth clients, or discerning stakeholders.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of the following locations: Santa Barbara, CA; Santa Monica, CA; San Francisco, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA; Palm Beach, FL; Charlotte, NC; or Raleigh, NC.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience in admissions for selective private schools or enrollment in competitive programs.
  • Background in luxury hospitality, VIP client services, or executive-level support functions.
  • Experience designing or refining enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service quality standards.
  • Comfort leveraging data and CRM insights to enhance enrollment quality, not merely speed.
