Client Services Director   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Most enrollment positions focus on volume. This one is designed to uphold standards.

Alpha is constructing a school model among the most ambitious globally. Our campuses integrate demanding academics, technology-enhanced instruction, and elevated expectations for both students and faculty. Students routinely outpace national learning benchmarks, supported by measurable outcomes. Afternoons are reserved for deeper exploration, self-directed work, and practical skill development. The model is proven. Its success, however, depends entirely on selecting the right families.

This is your focus.

You will manage the complete enrollment experience for a campus—from initial inquiry to final onboarding. This is not a pass-along function. You determine how families perceive us, how thoroughly they grasp the model, and whether their decision to enroll reflects genuine alignment. You will evaluate compatibility, facilitate meaningful dialogue, and advise against enrollment when appropriate. Maximum volume is not the objective. Alignment is.

We welcome applicants from high-caliber service backgrounds outside conventional education: independent schools, competitive programs, luxury hospitality, executive concierge services, exclusive membership organizations, or founder-led businesses where you personally stewarded high-value client relationships from start to finish. What counts is your capacity to execute a refined, multi-phase process with discernment, precision, and accountability.

If your career has centered on delivering exceptional service where trust, confidentiality, and client experience define the brand, this role will be recognizable—simply directed toward work that delivers measurable impact.

This is a full-time, salaried, on-campus position. We are hiring across La Jolla, Los Angeles, Marin County, Palo Alto, Piedmont, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, and South Bay. Relocation assistance is provided.

What you will be doing

  • Managing the entire enrollment lifecycle for prospective families, beginning with first outreach and concluding with onboarding.
  • Facilitating discovery conversations to evaluate alignment before proposing options or advising on progression.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family engagements across varied enrollment phases, maintaining full transparency on progress and follow-up.
  • Guiding campus visits, student shadow days, and enrollment discussions that articulate results, standards, and ideal candidate profiles.
  • Ensuring precise CRM and enrollment documentation (HubSpot and SIS) to enable forecasting, prioritization, and service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Applying transactional or aggressive sales methods.
  • Enrolling families who lack alignment solely to meet enrollment targets.
  • Overseeing a sizable team or operating within complex approval hierarchies.
  • Distributing accountability for family experience across multiple functions.
  • Working from a remote location. This position is campus-based intentionally.

Key responsibilities

Lead and deliver a high-integrity, selective enrollment process that attracts well-matched families while safeguarding the quality and outcomes of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, tailored service in contexts where service excellence directly shapes brand perception (education, luxury hospitality, executive assistance, exclusive membership, or privately operated client services).
  • Proven ownership of a full-cycle client, admissions, or enrollment pathway from initial inquiry to onboarding completion.
  • Experience managing 20+ concurrent client, guest, or family engagements across multiple stages, supported by a structured tracking approach.
  • Ability to share specific examples of advisory decision-making, including instances where you recommended against your offering when alignment was absent.
  • Professional correspondence experience with C-level executives, high-net-worth clients, or discerning stakeholders.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of these regions: La Jolla, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Marin County, CA; Palo Alto, CA; Piedmont, CA; San Francisco, CA; Santa Barbara, CA; Santa Monica, CA; or South Bay, CA.
  • Authorized for employment in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience with selective independent school admissions or competitive program recruitment.
  • Background in luxury hospitality operations, VIP client services, or senior executive support.
  • Experience designing or optimizing enrollment workflows, operational procedures, or service protocols.
  • Proficiency leveraging data and CRM analytics to enhance conversion alignment, not merely velocity.
