Description

  • On-site position in Dorado, Puerto Rico
  • Annual compensation of 150,000 USD, distributed weekly

If conventional schooling no longer challenges you and you are unwilling to compromise standards for comfort, this position offers a fundamentally different experience. You will guide students and adults toward demanding goals through data and measurable benchmarks, not traditional instruction and curriculum.

Alpha School is developing an AI-driven educational framework in which students achieve mastery of essential academics in two hours daily, dedicating their afternoons to developing practical life competencies. Our commitment is both straightforward and rigorous: students enjoy school, accelerate learning at twice the pace of their peers, and cultivate life skills. This position ensures that commitment becomes reality for every K–8 student at our Dorado location.

You will maintain direct involvement. You will deliver one-hour life skills sessions, facilitate structured motivational activities that advance student progress in academic applications, and provide Guides with specific, actionable coaching. This is neither a conventional teaching position nor a removed leadership function. You will answer for results, adherence to operational protocols, and unwavering quality standards.

If you are prepared to lead by example and establish a campus environment where achievement is earned through rigor, submit your application and demonstrate how you enforce excellence without exception.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver one-hour life skills sessions to K–8 students by preparing and implementing activities in strict accordance with established playbooks
  • Conduct structured motivational sessions designed to propel students forward in academic applications and achieve defined targets
  • Observe Guides during instruction and provide standards-aligned coaching with specific improvement actions and accountability for execution
  • Apply objective, metrics-based judgment to maintain mastery standards, regardless of resistance or discomfort
  • Work closely with on-site staff daily to guarantee consistent fulfillment of Alpha's 3 Promises

What you will NOT be doing

  • Deliver or tutor academic subjects using traditional classroom methods
  • Develop lesson plans or create curriculum materials
  • Deviate from approved playbooks or introduce ad hoc workshop content
  • Compromise mastery benchmarks or adjust targets to create artificial progress
  • Manage remotely through administrative tasks while others engage directly with students

Key responsibilities

Ensure that every K–8 student at Alpha's Dorado campus reliably experiences Alpha's 3 Promises: they love school, learn 2× faster, and build life skills.

Candidate requirements

  • Authorized to work in Puerto Rico
  • Capacity to work full-time on-site at the Dorado, Puerto Rico campus
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of applicable experience coaching individuals to demanding outcomes
  • Background working with children ages 5–14 in coaching, motivational, or youth development contexts
  • Experience leading or coaching adult performance using explicit standards and accountability mechanisms
  • Effective verbal communication skills tailored to K–8 audiences
  • Data-driven decision-making capability (leveraging metrics and analytics to establish direction and enforce standards)
  • High-standards orientation with confidence delivering direct feedback and sustaining goals without compromise
