Director of Client Relations   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Most enrollment positions prioritize throughput. This one is designed to uphold quality.

Alpha is constructing one of the most forward-thinking school systems in existence. Our sites combine demanding academics, technology-enabled instruction, and elevated expectations for both learners and educators. Students routinely outpace national learning rates, supported by measurable data. Afternoons shift toward depth, autonomy, and practical skill development. The approach is effective. But it depends entirely on enrolling the right families.

This is your focus.

You will manage the complete enrollment process for a campus, beginning with initial inquiry and continuing through onboarding. This is not a role with handoffs. You are accountable for how families perceive us, how well they grasp the model, and whether enrollment decisions reflect genuine alignment. You will evaluate compatibility, facilitate meaningful dialogue, and advise against enrollment when appropriate. The objective is not to maximize numbers. The objective is to ensure fit.

We welcome applicants from high-caliber service backgrounds outside conventional education: independent schools, competitive programs, upscale hospitality, executive assistance, exclusive membership platforms, or entrepreneurs who have directly overseen complex, high-value client experiences from start to finish. What counts is your capacity to execute a detailed, multi-phase engagement with sound judgment, transparent communication, and consistent follow-through.

If your professional experience centers on delivering exceptional service where trust, confidentiality, and experiential quality shape brand perception, this opportunity will resonate—now applied to work that meaningfully impacts lives.

This is a salaried, full-time, on-campus position. We are currently recruiting in Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, Orange County, Roswell, Chicago, Charlotte, Raleigh, and Dallas-Fort Worth. Relocation assistance is provided.

What you will be doing

  • Managing the complete enrollment experience for prospective families, starting with initial outreach and extending through onboarding.
  • Facilitating fit-assessment discussions to evaluate alignment before offering solutions or suggesting next actions.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family engagements across various enrollment phases, with transparent tracking of progress and follow-up schedules.
  • Guiding campus visits, trial experiences, and decision-making dialogues that articulate outcomes, standards, and ideal candidate profiles.
  • Ensuring precise CRM and enrollment documentation (HubSpot and SIS) to enable accurate forecasting, prioritization, and service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Applying transactional or coercive sales approaches.
  • Accepting families who lack alignment simply to meet enrollment targets.
  • Overseeing a sizable team or working through complex approval hierarchies.
  • Distributing responsibility for the family journey across multiple departments.
  • Operating remotely. This position is intentionally campus-based.

Key responsibilities

Lead and deliver a high-integrity, highly selective enrollment process that attracts aligned families while safeguarding the standards and effectiveness of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, tailored service in settings where service excellence directly influences brand standing (education, upscale hospitality, executive assistance, exclusive membership organizations, or independently operated services).
  • Proven ownership of a complete client, admissions, or enrollment process from initial engagement through onboarding.
  • Experience managing 20+ concurrent client, guest, or family relationships across varying stages, supported by an organized tracking and prioritization approach.
  • Capability to offer specific examples of consultative decision-making, including advising against your offering when alignment was absent.
  • Professional written communication experience with senior leaders, high-net-worth clients, or discerning stakeholders.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of these locations: Santa Barbara, CA; Santa Monica, CA; Orange County, CA; Roswell, GA; Chicago, IL; Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC; or Dallas-Fort Worth, TX.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience in competitive independent school admissions or selective program enrollment.
  • Background in upscale hospitality, VIP client services, or executive-level support functions.
  • Experience developing or enhancing enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service benchmarks.
  • Confidence leveraging data and CRM analytics to elevate conversion quality, not merely velocity.
