Director of Client Relations   $200,000 USD/year

Description

While most enrollment positions prioritize throughput, this role is designed to safeguard quality and fit.

Alpha is developing a school model of exceptional ambition. Our campuses integrate demanding academics, technology-enabled instruction, and elevated expectations for both learners and educators. Student learning velocity routinely exceeds national norms, supported by measurable outcomes. Afternoons are reserved for depth work, self-directed learning, and practical competency development. The model delivers results. But its success depends entirely on selecting aligned families. Your responsibility begins here.

You will control the complete admissions experience for a campus, spanning initial application to final enrollment. This is not a role defined by handoffs. You are accountable for how families perceive us, how thoroughly they comprehend our approach, and whether enrollment choices are grounded in the right rationale. You will evaluate compatibility, facilitate substantive dialogue, and advise against enrollment when warranted. Maximum enrollment is not the objective. Strategic alignment is.

We welcome applicants from high-caliber service domains outside conventional education: independent schools, competitive access programs, upscale hospitality, executive assistance, premium membership institutions, or entrepreneurial operators who have directly overseen high-stakes client relationships from start to finish. What counts is your capacity to execute a detailed, phased process with discernment, precision, and accountability. If your professional background centers on delivering exceptional service where confidence, discretion, and experiential excellence define the organization's identity, this opportunity will resonate. Apply now to elevate work of genuine consequence.

What you will be doing

  • Taking full ownership of the enrollment pathway for prospective families, beginning with initial outreach and concluding with onboarding completion.
  • Facilitating exploratory discussions to evaluate alignment before introducing offerings or advising on subsequent actions.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family engagements across varied enrollment phases, maintaining transparent tracking and timely follow-through.
  • Directing campus visits, shadow day experiences, and enrollment dialogues that articulate performance outcomes, behavioral standards, and ideal candidate profiles.
  • Sustaining precise CRM documentation and enrollment data (HubSpot and SIS) to enable forecasting, workflow prioritization, and service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Deploying transactional or aggressive conversion strategies.
  • Accepting families with poor alignment solely to satisfy numerical targets.
  • Supervising a sizable team or operating within complex reporting hierarchies.
  • Distributing accountability for family experience across multiple functions.
  • Performing duties remotely. This position is on-campus by requirement.

Key responsibilities

Lead and deliver a trust-centered, selectivity-driven enrollment process that secures well-matched families while preserving the operational integrity and academic performance standards of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, individualized service in settings where quality of service directly influences organizational reputation (education, luxury hospitality, executive support, premium membership, or owner-managed services).
  • Proven ownership of a complete client, admissions, or enrollment lifecycle from initial engagement through final onboarding.
  • Experience concurrently managing 20+ client, guest, or family accounts across multiple stages, supported by a reliable tracking and prioritization framework.
  • Capacity to supply specific examples of advisory decision-making, including instances where you recommended against your offering when alignment was absent.
  • Professional-grade written correspondence experience with senior leaders, high-net-worth clients, or discerning stakeholders.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of these locations: Malibu, CA; Los Angeles, CA; or Santa Barbara, CA.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Background in selective independent school admissions or competitive program enrollment management.
  • Professional history in luxury hospitality, VIP client services, or executive-level administrative support.
  • Experience developing or optimizing enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service protocols.
  • Proficiency leveraging data and CRM analytics to enhance conversion alignment, not merely velocity.
