Director of Guest Relations   $200,000 USD/year

Description

This isn't a role built around volume. It's built around protecting what works.

Alpha is developing one of the most forward-thinking school models in the country. Our campuses combine rigorous curriculum, technology-enhanced learning, and elevated expectations for both students and faculty. Students routinely outpace national learning benchmarks, and the outcomes are measurable. Afternoons shift toward deeper learning, independence, and applied skill development. The model delivers. But its success depends entirely on enrolling the right families.

This is where your work begins.

You will manage the complete enrollment experience for a campus, starting with the initial inquiry and extending through onboarding. This is not a pass-off function. You own how families perceive us, how well they grasp the model, and whether they enroll for the right reasons. You will evaluate alignment, facilitate meaningful dialogue, and advise against enrollment when warranted. The objective is not to maximize numbers. The objective is to ensure fit.

We welcome candidates from premium service backgrounds outside conventional education: selective private schools, competitive programs, high-end hospitality, executive client services, exclusive membership organizations, or entrepreneurs who have personally overseen premium client experiences from start to finish. What counts is your capacity to manage a sophisticated, multi-phase engagement with discernment, clarity, and accountability.

If your career has been defined by delivering exceptional service in settings where trust, discretion, and experience quality shape the brand, this position will resonate—just directed toward something that genuinely improves lives.

This is a full-time, salaried, on-campus role. We are currently hiring in Santa Barbara, Santa Monica, Orange County, Roswell, Chicago, Charlotte, Raleigh, and Dallas-Fort Worth. Relocation assistance is provided.

What you will be doing

  • Managing the complete enrollment experience for prospective families, beginning with initial outreach and continuing through onboarding.
  • Facilitating consultative conversations to assess alignment before proposing options or advising on next steps.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family engagements at varying stages, maintaining transparent tracking of status and follow-up cadence.
  • Delivering campus tours, student shadow visits, and decision-stage discussions that articulate outcomes, standards, and ideal candidate profiles.
  • Keeping CRM and enrollment systems (HubSpot and SIS) current and accurate to enable forecasting, workflow prioritization, and sustained service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Applying transactional or aggressive conversion tactics.
  • Enrolling misaligned families to meet a quota.
  • Supervising a large team or operating within complex reporting hierarchies.
  • Handing off family engagement to other roles or departments.
  • Working from home. This role requires on-site presence by design.

Key responsibilities

Lead and deliver a high-integrity, high-selectivity enrollment process that attracts aligned families while safeguarding the quality and outcomes of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, individualized service in settings where service excellence directly influences brand perception (education, high-end hospitality, executive client support, exclusive membership services, or owner-led businesses).
  • Proven ownership of a full client, admissions, or enrollment lifecycle from initial contact through onboarding completion.
  • Experience managing 20+ concurrent client, guest, or family relationships across multiple stages, supported by a clear tracking and prioritization method.
  • Capacity to share specific examples of consultative judgment, including instances where you advised against your offering when alignment was lacking.
  • Professional writing experience engaging senior executives, high-net-worth clients, or discerning audiences.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of the following locations: Santa Barbara, CA; Santa Monica, CA; Orange County, CA; Roswell, GA; Chicago, IL; Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC; or Dallas-Fort Worth, TX.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Background in competitive private school admissions or selective program enrollment.
  • Experience in luxury hospitality, VIP client services, or executive-level relationship management.
  • Track record developing or improving enrollment workflows, service protocols, or operational standards.
  • Comfort leveraging data and CRM analytics to enhance enrollment quality, not just velocity.
