Director of Membership   $200,000 USD/year

Description

Most admissions positions prioritize volume. This one is designed to uphold standards.

Alpha is constructing one of the world's most ambitious educational models. Our campuses integrate rigorous academics, technology-enabled learning, and elevated expectations for both students and staff. Students consistently outpace national learning benchmarks, supported by measurable data. Afternoons shift to deeper learning, independence, and practical skill development. The model delivers results. But success depends on enrolling the right families. That's your responsibility.

You will control the complete admissions process for a campus, beginning with applications and continuing through enrollment. This is not a role where you hand off responsibility. You determine how families perceive us, how thoroughly they grasp the model, and whether enrollment choices reflect genuine alignment. You will evaluate fit, facilitate meaningful discussions, and advocate for "no" when circumstances warrant it. The objective is not maximizing enrollment. The objective is ensuring alignment.

We welcome candidates from premium service sectors outside conventional education: selective private schools, competitive programs, high-end hospitality, executive assistance, elite membership organizations, or entrepreneurs who have directly managed high-value client experiences from beginning to end. What counts is your capacity to execute a detailed, multi-phase process with sound judgment, transparency, and reliable execution. If your career has centered on delivering exceptional service where trust, discretion, and experience quality define reputation, this position will resonate. Apply now to apply that standard to meaningful work.

What you will be doing

  • Managing the complete enrollment experience for prospective families, spanning initial contact to onboarding completion.
  • Facilitating needs-assessment discussions to evaluate fit prior to proposing solutions or advising on next steps.
  • Overseeing 20+ concurrent family relationships across various enrollment phases, maintaining transparent status tracking and follow-up protocols.
  • Directing campus tours, shadow visits, and decision-making conversations that articulate outcomes, expectations, and the model's ideal participant profile.
  • Ensuring accurate CRM and enrollment documentation (HubSpot and SIS) to enable forecasting, prioritization, and service excellence.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Employing transactional or aggressive sales methods.
  • Accepting families who lack alignment merely to reach enrollment targets.
  • Overseeing a substantial team or working through complex approval hierarchies.
  • Distributing family experience ownership across multiple staff members.
  • Operating remotely. This position is intentionally campus-based.

Key responsibilities

Lead and deliver a high-trust, highly selective enrollment process that secures aligned families while safeguarding the integrity and effectiveness of the Alpha model.

Candidate requirements

  • 3+ years providing premium, individualized service in settings where service excellence directly influences brand credibility (education, high-end hospitality, executive assistance, elite membership, or owner-managed services).
  • Proven ownership of a complete client, admissions, or enrollment process from initial contact through onboarding.
  • Experience managing 20+ client, guest, or family relationships concurrently across different stages, supported by a structured tracking and prioritization approach.
  • Capacity to supply specific examples of consultative decision-making, including instances where you advised against your offering when alignment was absent.
  • Professional written communication experience with senior executives, high-net-worth clients, or discerning audiences.
  • Willingness to reside in or relocate within 60 days to one of these markets: Malibu, CA; Los Angeles, CA; or Santa Barbara, CA.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Experience with selective private school admissions or competitive program enrollment processes.
  • Background in high-end hospitality, VIP guest relations, or executive-level support positions.
  • Experience developing or refining enrollment workflows, standard operating procedures, or service benchmarks.
  • Proficiency leveraging data and CRM insights to enhance conversion quality rather than merely speed.
