Description

Success in this role depends on your ability to establish trust with parents within the opening moments of a call. You will thrive here if you are motivated by outreach activities, reliable in your follow-up habits, and comfortable articulating an unconventional learning model without depending on scripted dialogue. Candidates who dislike phone-based communication or require environments without measurable outcomes should look elsewhere.

Unbound Academy operates as a tuition-free virtual public charter school, delivering education through a distinctive framework. Students complete their core coursework in concentrated time blocks supported by AI-driven platforms, then dedicate remaining hours to hands-on skill development via projects and enrichment activities. As an Admissions Counselor, you serve as the primary contact for families considering this educational path.

Your weekly responsibilities include responding promptly to incoming inquiries, shepherding families through each stage of the admissions journey, and advancing them from curiosity to completed enrollment. You will also serve as a representative of Unbound Academy at community events, generating prospective leads and raising local visibility. During quieter enrollment periods, you will support broader school functions while remaining prepared for the next admissions wave.

If you seek a position where your communication skills, reliability, and personal accountability directly shape enrollment outcomes, we are interested in speaking with you.

What you will be doing

  • Reaching out to fresh inbound leads within a 24-hour window and beginning admissions discussions via telephone
  • Describing Unbound Academy's virtual educational structure and enrollment procedures using straightforward, accessible language
  • Maintaining regular follow-up to advance families from initial inquiry through application completion to final enrollment
  • Recording all family interactions in a CRM platform with detailed notes, scheduled next actions, and current pipeline status
  • Coordinating and facilitating local outreach events in Texas or Arizona to introduce the school and collect new family contacts

What you will NOT be doing

  • Allowing new leads to sit uncontacted while you focus on catching up with paperwork
  • Relying on inflexible call scripts or functioning as part of a transactional call center operation
  • Attending community events without actively engaging attendees or capturing lead information
  • Devoting most of your hours to internal administrative tasks during periods of high enrollment activity

Key responsibilities

Transform family interest into qualified, well-informed applicants who successfully complete the enrollment process at Unbound Academy.

Candidate requirements

  • Located in Arizona with availability for a hybrid work arrangement
  • 1–2 years of experience in customer service or a similar role involving direct customer interaction
  • Background working with children or families in settings such as schools, camps, childcare facilities, tutoring programs, or comparable environments
  • Confident conducting regular phone conversations and leading families through processes with multiple steps
  • Excellent spoken communication abilities with a talent for quickly establishing trust
  • Working knowledge of CRM platforms or digital tools for tracking and managing leads

Nice to have

  • Prior work in admissions, enrollment coordination, inside sales, or lead qualification functions
  • Experience organizing or delivering presentations at community events or outreach initiatives
  • Academic training or professional background in communications, education, or a related discipline
