Enrollment Specialist   $40,000 USD/year

Description

Success in this role depends on your ability to establish trust with parents within the first moments of a conversation. This position suits someone who thrives on outreach, maintains consistent follow-up, and can confidently communicate a new learning model without depending on scripts. If you tend to avoid phone-based interactions or prefer work without measurable performance indicators, this role is unlikely to be a good match.

Unbound Academy operates as a tuition-free virtual public charter school, offering students a distinct educational model. Students work through core academics in concentrated time blocks using AI-enhanced learning, then dedicate the remainder of their day to building practical skills via projects and enrichment activities. Your function will be to serve as the first significant contact point for families considering this educational path.

Your weekly responsibilities will include responding promptly to incoming inquiries, guiding families through admissions, and advancing them from curiosity to completed enrollment. You will also represent Unbound Academy at community events to cultivate new leads and expand local awareness. During periods of reduced enrollment activity, you will support general school operations while remaining prepared for upcoming intake cycles.

If you are seeking a position where your communication skills, follow-through, and accountability have a direct effect on student enrollment, we would like to speak with you.

What you will be doing

  • Reaching out to new inbound leads within 24 hours and beginning admissions discussions via phone
  • Communicating Unbound Academy's virtual model and enrollment procedures using straightforward, accessible language
  • Maintaining regular follow-up to advance families from inquiry stage through application and into enrollment
  • Recording all interactions in a CRM system with precise notes, defined next steps, and current pipeline status
  • Planning and facilitating local recruitment events in Arizona or Texas to introduce the school and generate new leads

What you will NOT be doing

  • Allowing inbound leads to remain unaddressed while working through administrative tasks
  • Relying on rigid scripts or functioning in a high-volume call center manner
  • Participating in events passively, without actively presenting or driving lead generation
  • Dedicating the bulk of your time to back-office duties when enrollment activity is high

Key responsibilities

Turn emerging family interest into qualified, well-informed applicants who successfully complete enrollment at Unbound Academy.

Candidate requirements

  • Located in Arizona and available to work in a hybrid capacity
  • 1–2 years of experience in customer service or a similar customer-facing position
  • Background working with children or families (such as schools, camps, childcare, tutoring, or comparable settings)
  • At ease making regular phone calls and shepherding families through multi-stage processes
  • Solid verbal communication abilities with a capacity to establish trust rapidly
  • Working knowledge of CRM systems or digital lead tracking platforms

Nice to have

  • Background in admissions, enrollment, inside sales, or lead qualification positions
  • Experience organizing or presenting at community events or outreach initiatives
  • Academic coursework or professional background in communications, education, or a related discipline
