Enrollment Specialist   $40,000 USD/year

Description

Success in this role depends on your ability to establish trust with parents during the opening moments of a conversation. This position suits candidates who find energy in outreach work, maintain disciplined follow-up habits, and can articulate a non-traditional learning model without depending on prepared scripts. If you tend to avoid phone-based communication or prefer work without transparent performance standards, this role will not align with your strengths.

Unbound Academy operates as a tuition-free virtual public charter school with a distinctive educational framework. Students complete their core academic requirements in concentrated time blocks supported by AI-driven learning tools, then dedicate the remainder of their day to skill-building through hands-on projects and enrichment activities. You will serve as the initial substantive contact point for families considering this alternative.

Your weekly work includes prompt response to incoming inquiries, shepherding families through each stage of the admissions pathway, and advancing them from curiosity to completed enrollment. You will also attend local community events on behalf of Unbound Academy to cultivate new leads and expand visibility within your region. During slower enrollment periods, you will support broader school operations while remaining prepared for the next admissions cycle.

If you seek a position where your communication discipline, follow-through, and personal accountability shape enrollment outcomes directly, we are interested in speaking with you.

What you will be doing

  • Reaching out to new inbound leads within a 24-hour window and opening admissions discussions via phone
  • Describing Unbound Academy's virtual learning structure and enrollment procedures using straightforward, accessible language
  • Sustaining regular follow-up to advance families from initial inquiry through application and into enrollment
  • Recording all engagement in a CRM system with precise notes, defined next actions, and current pipeline status
  • Planning and facilitating local recruitment events across Texas or Arizona to introduce the school and gather prospective leads

What you will NOT be doing

  • Allowing inbound leads to remain unaddressed while managing administrative backlog
  • Relying on inflexible scripts or functioning as a high-volume transactional call center
  • Participating in events without actively presenting or pursuing new lead generation
  • Devoting most of your hours to back-office tasks during periods of active enrollment demand

Key responsibilities

Transform incoming family interest into qualified, well-informed applicants who successfully complete enrollment at Unbound Academy.

Candidate requirements

  • Located in Arizona with availability for a hybrid work arrangement
  • 1–2 years of customer service experience or comparable customer-facing work
  • Background working directly with children or families (examples: schools, camps, childcare, tutoring, or related settings)
  • Confident making regular phone calls and shepherding families through processes with multiple steps
  • Solid verbal communication abilities with capacity to establish trust rapidly
  • Working knowledge of CRM platforms or digital tools for lead tracking

Nice to have

  • Prior experience in admissions, enrollment, inside sales, or lead qualification functions
  • Track record organizing or delivering presentations at community events or outreach initiatives
  • Academic background or coursework in communications, education, or a closely related discipline
