Student Enrollment Specialist   $40,000 USD/year

Description

Success in this role depends on your ability to establish trust with a parent within the opening moments of a call. This position suits individuals who are motivated by outreach work, disciplined in follow-up, and comfortable presenting an innovative learning model without depending on scripted responses. If you tend to avoid phone-based communication or prefer work that lacks measurable performance indicators, this role will not align with your strengths.

Unbound Academy operates as a virtual, tuition-free public charter school offering students an alternative educational framework. Students engage with core academic content during a concentrated time block supported by AI-driven learning tools, then dedicate the remainder of their day to cultivating practical skills through projects and enrichment activities. You will serve as the primary point of contact for families considering this educational pathway.

Your weekly responsibilities will include responding promptly to incoming inquiries, shepherding families through the admissions workflow, and facilitating their progression from initial curiosity to completed enrollment. You will also attend local community events on behalf of Unbound Academy to cultivate new leads and expand awareness within your region. During quieter enrollment periods, you will support broader school operations while remaining prepared for the next admissions cycle.

If you are seeking a position where your communication skills, accountability, and initiative have a direct effect on student enrollment outcomes, we encourage you to apply.

What you will be doing

  • Reaching out to newly generated inbound leads within 24 hours and beginning admissions discussions via phone
  • Describing Unbound Academy's virtual educational structure and enrollment procedures using straightforward, accessible language
  • Maintaining regular follow-up to advance families from initial inquiry through application completion to final enrollment
  • Recording all engagement activity in a CRM system with detailed notes, action items, and pipeline status updates
  • Planning and conducting local recruitment events across Texas or Arizona to introduce the school and collect prospective leads

What you will NOT be doing

  • Allowing new inbound leads to remain unaddressed while focusing on administrative tasks
  • Relying on inflexible call scripts or functioning within a high-volume call center framework
  • Participating in events without actively presenting the school or pursuing lead generation
  • Allocating the bulk of your time to back-end operational tasks during periods of active enrollment demand

Key responsibilities

Transform inquiries from prospective families into qualified, well-informed applicants who successfully complete the enrollment process at Unbound Academy.

Candidate requirements

  • Located in Arizona and available to work in a hybrid capacity
  • 1–2 years of experience in customer service or a comparable customer-facing position
  • Background working directly with children or families (examples include schools, camps, childcare facilities, tutoring services, or similar settings)
  • Confident initiating regular phone calls and supporting families through sequential, multi-step procedures
  • Proficient verbal communication abilities with a capacity to establish trust rapidly
  • Working knowledge of CRM platforms or digital lead management systems

Nice to have

  • Prior experience in admissions coordination, enrollment management, inside sales, or lead qualification functions
  • Experience organizing or delivering presentations at community events or outreach initiatives
  • Academic coursework or professional background in communications, education, or a related discipline
