Description

Success in this role depends on your ability to establish trust with parents during the first moments of a call. This is a position for someone who thrives on outreach, maintains disciplined follow-up, and can articulate a new educational model naturally—without reading from a script. If you shy away from phone-based work or prefer environments where performance isn't clearly measured, this role will not align with your preferences.

Unbound Academy operates as a virtual, tuition-free public charter school with a distinctive educational approach. Students engage with core academics in a condensed timeframe using AI-enhanced learning tools, then dedicate the remainder of their day to skill-building through projects and enrichment activities. You will serve as the first substantive touchpoint for families considering this alternative.

Your weekly responsibilities will include responding promptly to new inquiries, shepherding families through each stage of the admissions journey, and converting interest into completed enrollments. You will also attend local events on behalf of Unbound Academy to cultivate leads and raise awareness within the community. During slower enrollment periods, you will support general school operations while remaining prepared for upcoming intake cycles.

If you are looking for a position where your communication skills, accountability, and initiative have a direct effect on enrollment outcomes, we would like to speak with you.

What you will be doing

  • Reaching out to inbound leads within 24 hours and beginning admissions discussions via phone
  • Describing Unbound Academy's virtual structure and enrollment process in straightforward, accessible terms
  • Maintaining regular follow-up to advance families from inquiry through application to final enrollment
  • Recording all interactions in a CRM system with detailed notes, upcoming actions, and pipeline status
  • Planning and conducting local recruitment events in Arizona or Texas to introduce the school and collect new leads

What you will NOT be doing

  • Allowing inbound leads to sit idle while you focus on administrative tasks
  • Relying on scripted language or functioning like a high-volume call center agent
  • Participating in events without actively engaging or driving lead generation
  • Dedicating most of your time to back-office duties during periods of active enrollment activity

Key responsibilities

Transform new family inquiries into qualified, informed applicants who successfully enroll at Unbound Academy.

Candidate requirements

  • Currently based in Arizona with availability for hybrid work arrangements
  • 1–2 years of professional experience in customer service or similar customer-facing roles
  • Background working with children or families through schools, camps, childcare, tutoring, or comparable settings
  • Confident making regular phone calls and navigating families through multi-step procedures
  • Excellent verbal communication abilities with a talent for building rapport quickly
  • Working knowledge of CRM platforms or digital lead management systems

Nice to have

  • Prior experience in admissions, enrollment coordination, inside sales, or lead qualification
  • Track record of organizing or presenting at community events or outreach initiatives
  • Academic background or coursework in communications, education, or a related discipline
