Founder Success Manager   $250,000 USD/year

Description

Coach entrepreneurs, not classrooms.

Most people believe high school exists to prepare students for what comes next. We believe what comes next starts today. Founders School is a four-year institution for students unwilling to postpone building something meaningful until after graduation. Our students aren't completing hypothetical case studies. They're launching actual businesses, collaborating with experienced founders, becoming fluent in AI, and tackling real problems. Our expectations are elevated because our students are: launch a million-dollar company, surface problems worth addressing, and achieve mastery of AI ahead of most adults. Your responsibility is to ensure that ambition remains sustainable.

You won't be delivering lectures or dictating how students should operate their ventures. You'll guide a cohort of young entrepreneurs daily, ensuring they remain accountable, navigate challenges, and maintain momentum when the difficulty of building becomes overwhelming. You'll recognize when to push them, when to support them, and when to introduce them to the appropriate mentor or tool. The curriculum, Entrepreneurs-in-Residence, and founder ecosystem supply the technical startup knowledge. You supply the structure, expectations, and forward motion that convert capability into achievement.

This role also represents a chance to participate in building something foundational. As part of our founding team in New York City, you'll contribute to defining the culture, operational systems, and everyday reality of an institution designed to transform what high school can deliver. Your contributions won't be limited to a single student cohort. They will inform the model for every subsequent Founders School location. If you're motivated by the startup environment, subscribe to the belief that elevated standards yield elevated results, and seek to dedicate your effort to cultivating the next wave of entrepreneurs, we want to hear from you.

What you will be doing

  • Guide and inspire a group of student founders via weekly one-on-one sessions, daily touchpoints, and collective standups that ensure continuous, measurable advancement.
  • Maintain an exceptionally demanding standard for performance while delivering the structure and accountability required to help students push through barriers and continue building.
  • Track student advancement using FounderOS, recognize when learners encounter roadblocks, and facilitate introductions to mentors, Entrepreneurs-in-Residence, or additional resources that drive acceleration.
  • Contribute to establishing the culture, rituals, programming, events, and operational cadence of a premier entrepreneurial high school.
  • Accompany students on travel experiences multiple times annually while cultivating enduring relationships with founders, investors, operators, and entrepreneurial families.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Serving as the principal business advisor or crafting strategic plans for students. That responsibility belongs to FounderOS, Entrepreneurs-in-Residence, and external mentors.
  • Instructing conventional academic subjects or evaluating homework assignments.
  • Tolerating mediocre output from students who possess the capacity for excellence.
  • Facilitating sessions beyond your domain of competence or defaulting to superficial entrepreneurial guidance.
  • Operating within an inflexible institutional framework where administrative overhead undermines impactful student results.

Key responsibilities

Establish an environment in which every student advances continuously as an entrepreneur by integrating outstanding coaching, rigorous accountability, strategic connections, and a culture that transforms driven adolescents into competent founders.

Candidate requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years in a leadership role or high-impact capacity within a startup or rapidly scaling business.
  • Solid business acumen and the capability to engage credibly with early-stage entrepreneurs while recognizing when to bring in domain specialists.
  • Proven track record of coaching, inspiring, and maintaining accountability among high-performing individuals.
  • Consistent, practical use of AI to enhance both quality and efficiency in your daily work.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication capabilities with students, families, mentors, and entrepreneurs.
  • Commitment to working full-time in-person in New York City, including periodic travel during the year.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to have

  • Experience founding or co-founding a company.
  • Background in coaching, mentoring, or managing programs aimed at teenagers or young adults.
  • A developed network including founders, investors, operators, or advisors.
  • Prior involvement in early-stage ventures where you routinely handled responsibilities across multiple areas.
