Accelerator Program Manager   $250,000 USD/year

Description

Coach founders, not classrooms.

Most assume high school exists to prepare students for what comes next. We believe what comes next begins today. Founders School is a four-year institution built for students unwilling to postpone building something real until they reach adulthood. These students aren't working through simulated business exercises. They're founding actual companies, collaborating with experienced entrepreneurs, gaining mastery over AI, and tackling meaningful challenges. Our expectations are high because our students are: launch a million-dollar venture, pinpoint challenges worth addressing, and achieve AI fluency ahead of the curve. Your responsibility is to ensure this ambition translates into sustainable action.

You won't deliver lectures or prescribe how students should operate their ventures. Instead, you'll mentor a cohort of emerging founders daily, ensuring they remain accountable, navigate failures, and maintain momentum when entrepreneurship becomes demanding. You'll recognize when to push them harder, when to offer support, and when to broker introductions to the appropriate mentor or tool. The curriculum, Entrepreneurs-in-Residence, and founder ecosystem supply the technical startup guidance. You deliver the structure, rigor, and drive that convert possibility into measurable achievement.

This position also represents a chance to contribute to something foundational. As part of our New York City founding team, you'll influence the ethos, frameworks, and lived experience of an institution engineered to transform what high school can deliver. Your contributions won't merely affect a single student group. They will inform the operating model for each subsequent Founders School location. If you're captivated by the startup world, trust that exceptional standards yield exceptional results, and seek to channel your efforts into cultivating tomorrow's entrepreneurial leaders, we're eager to connect.

What you will be doing

  • Mentor and drive a group of student entrepreneurs through recurring 1:1 sessions, daily touchpoints, and collective stand-ups that ensure continuous, trackable advancement.
  • Maintain an exceptionally rigorous standard for performance while delivering the guidance and accountability necessary for students to work through challenges and persist in building.
  • Track student development via FounderOS, recognize when founders hit roadblocks, and facilitate access to mentors, Entrepreneurs-in-Residence, or additional resources that expedite progress.
  • Contribute to shaping the culture, rituals, programming, events, and operational cadence of a premier entrepreneurial high school.
  • Accompany students on multiple trips annually while cultivating enduring connections with founders, investors, operators, and entrepreneurial communities.

What you will NOT be doing

  • Serving as the chief business advisor or crafting strategic plans for student ventures. FounderOS, Entrepreneurs-in-Residence, and external mentors handle those functions.
  • Delivering conventional academic instruction or evaluating traditional coursework.
  • Tolerating mediocre output from students who possess the capacity for outstanding work.
  • Facilitating sessions beyond your specialized knowledge or defaulting to surface-level entrepreneurial guidance.
  • Operating within an inflexible educational bureaucracy where administrative barriers undermine student impact.

Key responsibilities

Establish conditions under which each student reliably advances as an entrepreneur by integrating superior mentorship, rigorous accountability, purposeful networking, and a culture that transforms driven adolescents into competent business founders.

Candidate requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years in a leadership or high-impact capacity within a startup or fast-scaling organization.
  • Solid business acumen and the confidence to interact meaningfully with early-stage entrepreneurs while recognizing when expert input is required.
  • Proven track record coaching, inspiring, and enforcing accountability among high-caliber individuals.
  • Regular, practical application of AI to enhance both efficiency and output quality in your daily responsibilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities across students, families, mentors, and founder networks.
  • Commitment to full-time, in-person work in New York City, with periodic travel as needed.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to have

  • Previously launched or co-launched a company.
  • Background in coaching, mentoring, or managing initiatives targeting teenagers or emerging adults.
  • A pre-existing professional network spanning founders, investors, operators, or advisors.
  • Tenure at early-stage ventures where cross-functional responsibilities were routine.
