Are you a technically grounded product leader eager to pioneer the reinvention of education using AI? 2 Hour Learning seeks a technical architect to spearhead the modernization of our AI-driven learning ecosystem. This position is designed for someone with the technical depth to function as a CTO, the product acumen to lead transformational initiatives, and the drive to leverage those capabilities to unlock student potential on an unmatched scale.

Most organizations add AI to conventional educational frameworks as an afterthought. At 2 Hour Learning, we have taken an entirely different path: we have reconstructed the school model from its foundation, applying AI and learning science to fundamentally dismantle the limitations of the traditional classroom. Our students do more than improve — they excel, earning multiple 4s and 5s on AP exams, demonstrating multi-year academic gains within a single year, and regularly surpassing their own expectations. We have demonstrated that when AI serves as the foundational operating system of learning, student performance accelerates dramatically.

This is not a conventional product management position centered on customer feedback cycles or gradual feature rollouts. This is a technical product ownership position at the executive tier, where you will control the architecture, technical roadmap, and AI integration of our complete learning platform. You will be accountable for making the difficult technical tradeoffs that keep our products lean, scalable, and uncompromisingly centered on enhancing student outcomes. You will think with the mindset of a CTO yet operate with the agility of a product entrepreneur, merging engineering rigor with learning science principles to consistently deliver breakthroughs.

What you will be doing

  • Cultivating and demonstrating comprehensive education product expertise to inform strategic choices
  • Creating technical specifications that address critical technical decisions and emphasize simplicity, efficiency, and sustainability
  • Deploying generative AI technologies to automate and optimize engineering workflows, consistent with the strategic goal of minimizing manual effort

What you will NOT be doing

  • Pure people management; your technical and business expertise will be essential in this role
  • Spending your time in meetings, committees, and administrative duties; we have automated management overhead to allow you to concentrate on generating business value through direct contributions
  • High-level strategies lacking implementation details; your guidance must be grounded in product-level understanding

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as the CTO of one or more education products, commanding core competencies and delivering business value through flawless execution and strategic leadership

Candidate requirements

  • 7+ years of experience making the important architecture and design decisions on software projects, such as the application of architecture design patterns or significant open source technologies
  • 4+ years of experience in positions with full technical and delivery ownership on a revenue-generating product
  • Experience using AI agents to design, implement, and test software products or features
