2 Hour Learning is creating AI-powered private schools where students complete core academics in only two hours daily, then dedicate afternoons to life skills and passion-based learning. As campuses grow nationwide, the physical setting must reflect the mission: composed, deliberate, unconventional, and clearly premium. This role is designed to establish that benchmark and ensure it can be replicated at every location.
You will establish the design philosophy, translate it into layouts that depart from conventional classroom arrangements, and document standards so the brand remains coherent as we expand. This is not about managing vendors or overseeing facilities operations. It is high-judgment, high-speed design work within real constraints and with meaningful impact.

What you will be doing
- Developing campus design vision documents (philosophy, mood boards, material palettes, lighting character, furniture strategy) that convey premium quality and reject traditional school aesthetics
- Generating detailed spatial plans that support flexible learning areas, intuitive circulation, and coherent lighting and environmental reasoning
- Establishing and maintaining design standards and boundaries that ensure every campus stays aligned while accommodating varied building layouts
- Executing rapid iteration cycles at active campuses by identifying refinement opportunities and delivering prioritized action lists that enhance finish quality without compromising opening schedules
What you will NOT be doing
- Coordinating vendors, identifying contractors, or handling procurement processes
- Supervising construction, maintenance activities, or executive-level facilities management
- Creating "attractive" standard private school interiors featuring bright primary palettes and institutional materials
- Pursuing perfection when it would delay campus launch dates
Key responsibilities
This role is responsible for ensuring every campus launches and matures with a category-defining, premium, unconventional physical environment that remains consistent across all locations.
Candidate requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in interior, spatial, environmental, or experiential design
- Portfolio demonstrating premium physical environments (e.g., hospitality, luxury residential, boutique commercial, cruise ship, or experiential)
- Demonstrated capability to independently produce mood boards and comprehensive concept direction for spaces
- Demonstrated capability to develop spatial layouts that enhance flow, density, and user experience
- Strong knowledge of materials and lighting (finishes, texture, lighting tone, and their emotional impact)
- High-level aesthetic judgment with clear evidence of restraint, proportion, and attention to detail
- Comfort using AI tools or strong track record of quickly adopting new design technologies
- Ability to work in the United States in a hybrid arrangement with 50–70% travel to campuses

- Experience creating repeatable multi-location environments with documented standards and templates
- Experience designing unconventional learning, community, or wellness environments with adaptable seating arrangements
- Strong fast visualization/rendering capabilities that accelerate concept iteration and decision cycles
