Technical Operations Specialist   $100,000 USD/year

Description

If you want to own the systems that keep an organization running—not just manage tickets—this role is built for that. For those with experience running endpoint fleets, managing SaaS access, and coordinating procurement against hard deadlines, this position offers meaningful advancement. If you prefer environments where IT moves slowly, launches are abstract, and change is rare, this won't be the right match.

2 Hour Learning is expanding a new K-12 model driven by AI-powered personalized learning. As campuses come online at a consistent pace, operational readiness hinges on execution fundamentals: devices delivered, provisioned, and enrolled; SaaS licenses activated and correctly assigned; communications infrastructure configured and validated.

You will oversee device procurement from Dell, HP, Apple, and Lenovo; manage MDM (mobile device management) and provisioning processes; handle SaaS account administration and renewals for 14+ platforms; and deploy the campus technology onboarding playbook, including Google Voice, Zoom Phone, and Zoom Rooms. You will refine documentation, strengthen SOPs, and leverage AI tools to automate recurring tasks.

If you value direct ownership, tangible results, and the momentum of a growing school network, we want to hear from you.

What you will be doing

  • Manage device procurement end-to-end across Dell, HP, Apple, and Lenovo, monitoring lead times and shipment schedules to ensure campuses receive equipment ahead of launch
  • Handle provisioning, imaging, enrollment, and lifecycle operations for student and staff devices via an MDM platform, maintaining precise asset records for all campuses
  • Oversee SaaS account administration, user permissions, and license allocation across 14+ platforms, anticipating utilization thresholds and renewal timelines to avoid service interruptions
  • Deploy the new-campus technology onboarding playbook by staging hardware, provisioning systems, and setting up Google Voice, Zoom Phone, and Zoom Rooms prior to opening day
  • Develop and update SOPs, runbooks, and launch checklists, refining them with each campus onboarding cycle and automating routine tasks using AI tools

What you will NOT be doing

  • Working primarily as a ticket-driven helpdesk resource measured on volume metrics
  • Designing enterprise IT architecture or debating strategic direction while launch timelines drift
  • Managing purchases on an ad-hoc basis without tracking inventory, coordinating vendors, or maintaining documented specifications
  • Relying on others to create process documentation (you will build repeatable launch systems, not depend on institutional memory)

Key responsibilities

This role ensures every campus opens and operates on time because all devices, SaaS access, and launch-critical technology systems are fully provisioned and operational before day one.

Candidate requirements

  • Currently located in the United States and authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship
  • Willing and able to travel periodically to US campuses
  • Experience administering an MDM (mobile device management) platform such as ManageEngine, Jamf, Intune, Mosyle, or equivalent
  • Hands-on experience deploying and supporting end-user devices (laptops or tablets), including provisioning/imaging and troubleshooting
  • Experience administering SaaS platforms, including account provisioning, permissions management, and license management
  • Experience coordinating hardware procurement and delivery logistics and/or running asset tracking workflows
  • Evidence of creating or maintaining operational documentation such as SOPs, runbooks, or playbooks
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools to troubleshoot technical problems or automate repetitive operational workflows

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting a distributed, multi-site environment where inventory, spares, and repairs must be managed across locations
  • Strong track record of building simple automations that reduce manual provisioning and reporting work
  • Experience configuring or administering communication tools such as Google Voice, Zoom Phone, or Zoom Rooms
