Opening a single school is straightforward. Opening many schools on schedule, with improving speed and consistency, is a different challenge entirely.

2 Hour Learning is establishing a nationwide school network built on a model that condenses a full academic day into two hours of focused, AI-enhanced instruction. Scaling this model requires expansion execution that matches the precision of the educational product. This role is designed to deliver that. You will oversee the complete development cycle for new school sites—from initial site assessment to operational readiness—while creating systems that ensure each opening is faster, more reliable, and more efficient than the last.

This position is not a conventional development function. You are not here simply to oversee projects. You are here to remove obstacles from the expansion process. That requires decisive action on site qualification, direct engagement with permitting and construction challenges, vendor negotiation, and aggressive timeline management. Simultaneously, you will deconstruct each stage of this process into structured, AI-enabled workflows that minimize manual intervention and enhance forecasting precision as the program matures.

What you will be doing

  • Evaluate and approve high-impact site selections by assessing zoning compliance, permitting pathways, cost structures, and schedule feasibility through structured and AI-supported analysis
  • Manage multiple school construction projects concurrently, directing construction managers, clearing obstacles, and delivering on-time, on-budget launches
  • Prepare actionable capital project proposals that provide stakeholders with clarity on scope, budget, and execution approach
  • Oversee vendor procurement, RFP processes, and contract negotiations with emphasis on speed, quality, and cost efficiency
  • Break down expansion processes into discrete work components and implement AI-powered systems that reduce cycle times and increase reliability

What you will NOT be doing

  • Operating as a passive coordinator who waits for status reports from contractors or external partners
  • Focusing narrowly on a single development phase (such as site selection or construction only) without accountability for the complete result
  • Depending on manual, improvised methods that require reinvention for each new site
  • Forwarding issues upward without direct involvement in resolving permitting, design, or construction challenges
  • Consuming extended timelines to achieve stakeholder alignment without pushing toward a definitive decision

Key responsibilities

Lead the complete expansion process for new school sites by delivering fully operational campuses according to reliable schedules while systematically decreasing time, cost, and risk through the application of AI-driven systems.

Candidate requirements

  • Documented experience leading a minimum of one real estate development or construction initiative from site selection to operational opening with complete ownership
  • Background managing multiple simultaneous construction or capital projects with direct accountability for schedules, coordination, and problem resolution
  • Deep familiarity with zoning regulations, permitting procedures, construction processes, and vendor management, including direct interaction with general contractors, architects, and regulatory bodies
  • Proven capability to make tradeoff decisions balancing cost, schedule, and feasibility with quantifiable, clear results
  • Experience refining or designing complex operational processes (such as permitting, design coordination, or construction execution)
  • Demonstrated skill in decomposing complex workflows into structured, repeatable systems with continuous improvement
  • Track record of leveraging tools (AI or other technologies) to minimize manual tasks, expedite decision cycles, or enhance execution velocity
  • Strong ownership orientation with capability to function effectively in ambiguous environments and produce tangible outcomes
  • Willingness and capacity to travel up to 60% to operational school sites nationwide and maintain on-site presence during critical development and opening stages
  • Currently based in the US with authorization to work without requiring visa sponsorship
