Description

Opening a single school is straightforward. Opening them repeatedly, on schedule, and with increasing efficiency is a different discipline.

2 Hour Learning is establishing a nationwide network of schools engineered to deliver a full day's education in two concentrated hours through AI. Scaling this model requires expansion methods as disciplined as the educational product. This position exists to deliver that discipline. You will manage the complete lifecycle of each new school site—from initial location through operational readiness—while constructing the frameworks that make every subsequent launch more efficient, more reliable, and more predictable.

This is not conventional development leadership. You are not hired to simply track project milestones. You are hired to remove obstacles from the expansion pathway. That requires decisive judgment on site feasibility, direct engagement with permitting and construction challenges, vendor negotiation, and timeline enforcement with urgency. Simultaneously, you will deconstruct each element of this process into structured, AI-enabled workflows that minimize manual intervention and enhance forecasting precision over time.

What you will be doing

  • Execute high-impact site decisions by assessing zoning, permitting, cost, and timeline viability through structured and AI-supported analysis
  • Oversee multiple concurrent school construction projects, directing construction managers, clearing obstacles, and ensuring timely, on-budget completions
  • Create precise, decision-ready capital project proposals that achieve stakeholder alignment on scope, budget, and execution approach
  • Direct vendor selection processes, RFPs, and contract negotiations with emphasis on velocity, quality, and cost management
  • Break down expansion workflows into discrete work units and construct AI-powered systems that reduce timelines and increase predictability

  • Functioning as a passive status monitor relying on contractor or partner updates
  • Focusing exclusively on one phase (such as site selection or construction alone) without accountability for complete outcomes
  • Depending on manual, improvised processes that restart with each new location
  • Escalating issues without personally addressing permitting, design, or construction roadblocks
  • Investing months in stakeholder alignment without producing a definitive decision

Key responsibilities

Lead the complete expansion of new school locations by delivering fully operational campuses on reliable timelines while systematically decreasing time, cost, and risk through AI-powered systems.

Candidate requirements

  • Proven track record leading at least one real estate development or construction project from site selection to opening with complete ownership
  • Experience overseeing multiple simultaneous builds or capital projects with direct accountability for timelines, coordination, and problem resolution
  • Deep fluency in zoning, permitting, construction, and vendor management, with capability to engage directly with general contractors, architects, and regulatory authorities
  • Demonstrated capacity to make tradeoff decisions balancing cost, timeline, and feasibility with clear, quantifiable results
  • Experience refining or structuring complex operational workflows (such as permitting, design coordination, construction execution)
  • Proven ability to decompose complex workflows into structured, repeatable systems and enhance them iteratively
  • Track record of leveraging tools (AI or otherwise) to minimize manual effort, accelerate decision-making, or improve execution velocity
  • Strong ownership orientation with ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver tangible outcomes
  • Willingness and capacity to travel up to 60% to active school sites nationwide and maintain on-site presence during critical development and opening phases
  • Currently based in the US and authorized to work without visa sponsorship
