Description

Opening one school is straightforward. Opening many schools consistently, reliably, and with improving efficiency is a different challenge entirely.

2 Hour Learning is constructing a nationwide school system that condenses a traditional school day into two concentrated hours through AI integration. This model demands that our physical expansion operates with the same precision as our educational product. This role is designed to ensure exactly that. You will control the complete development cycle of new school sites—from initial property assessment through full operational readiness—while simultaneously creating the infrastructure that makes every future launch more efficient, streamlined, and reliable.

This position differs fundamentally from conventional development roles. Your mandate is not simply project oversight. Your mandate is to remove barriers from our expansion strategy. This requires making decisive judgments on site suitability, directly addressing permitting and construction challenges, conducting vendor negotiations, and maintaining aggressive timeline discipline. Concurrently, you will transform each component of this process into organized, AI-enhanced workflows that minimize manual intervention and strengthen forecast precision over successive iterations.

If you have delivered real construction projects and find yourself frustrated by protracted timelines, dispersed accountability, and recurring errors, this is your opportunity to solve those problems—at organizational scale.

What you will be doing

  • Execute high-impact site assessments by confirming zoning compatibility, permitting pathways, cost parameters, and timeline viability through structured and AI-enhanced evaluation methods
  • Manage multiple concurrent school construction projects, directing construction managers, eliminating obstacles, and guaranteeing timely, budget-compliant openings
  • Create comprehensive, stakeholder-ready capital project proposals that establish clear alignment on scope, budget, and implementation approach
  • Direct vendor qualification, RFP processes, and contract negotiations with emphasis on execution speed, deliverable quality, and cost discipline
  • Break down expansion processes into discrete operational units and construct AI-powered systems that reduce cycle times and enhance predictability

What you will NOT be doing

  • Functioning as a hands-off project coordinator who waits for status reports from contractors or external partners
  • Limiting your focus to a single development phase (such as site selection or construction alone) without accountability for complete project delivery
  • Depending on unstructured, improvised approaches that require rebuilding with each new location
  • Delegating issues upward without personally intervening to resolve permitting, design, or construction challenges
  • Consuming extended timeframes to achieve stakeholder consensus without forcing timely decisions

Key responsibilities

Control the complete expansion lifecycle of new school locations by delivering fully operational campuses on reliable timelines while systematically decreasing time requirements, capital expenditure, and execution risk through AI-powered infrastructure.

Candidate requirements

  • Verified experience directing at least one real estate development or construction initiative from site identification through operational launch with complete project ownership
  • Background managing multiple simultaneous construction or capital projects with direct accountability for schedule adherence, stakeholder coordination, and problem resolution
  • Deep proficiency in zoning regulations, permitting procedures, construction processes, and vendor management, including capability to work directly with general contractors, architects, and regulatory authorities
  • Proven capacity to evaluate tradeoffs among cost, schedule, and feasibility with quantifiable, documented results
  • Experience refining or establishing complex operational processes (including permitting, design coordination, and construction delivery)
  • Confirmed ability to decompose intricate workflows into structured, replicable frameworks and enhance them through iteration
  • Documentation of leveraging technology solutions (AI or other platforms) to minimize manual tasks, expedite decision cycles, or enhance execution velocity
  • Strong ownership orientation with capacity to navigate uncertainty and produce tangible real-world results
  • Availability and willingness to travel up to 60% to operational school sites throughout the US and maintain on-site presence during critical development and launch phases
  • Current US residence and authorization to work without requiring visa sponsorship
