Description

Opening a school is straightforward. Opening schools repeatedly, on schedule, and with improving speed is rare.

2 Hour Learning is constructing a nationwide system of schools engineered to deliver a full day's education in two concentrated hours through AI. This model succeeds only when scaling is as disciplined as the educational product. This role ensures that precision. You will control the complete lifecycle of school site development—from bare property to fully functioning campus—while establishing systems that render each future opening faster, more efficient, and more reliable.

This is not a conventional facilities development position. You are not here simply to oversee projects. You are here to remove obstacles from growth. That includes making definitive judgments on site suitability, intervening directly in permitting and construction challenges, managing vendor negotiations, and advancing schedules with intensity. Simultaneously, you will decompose every element of this process into systematic, AI-enhanced workflows that decrease hands-on labor and strengthen projection reliability over time.

If you have directed live construction projects and are dissatisfied with protracted timelines, disjointed accountability, and recurring errors, this is where you correct it—across the portfolio.

What you will be doing

  • Validate site viability by assessing zoning compliance, permitting pathways, budget constraints, and timeline feasibility through structured, AI-supported analysis
  • Manage several concurrent school construction projects, coordinating construction managers, clearing obstacles, and securing on-schedule, on-budget completions
  • Create actionable capital project plans that bring stakeholders into alignment on scope, budget, and delivery approach
  • Direct vendor sourcing, RFP processes, and contract negotiations prioritizing velocity, quality, and cost discipline
  • Break down expansion processes into discrete operational units and construct AI-powered systems that shorten cycles and enhance forecast precision

What you will NOT be doing

  • Operating as a hands-off status monitor dependent on contractor or partner reports
  • Concentrating exclusively on one stage (such as site acquisition or construction alone) without full lifecycle accountability
  • Depending on improvised, unstructured methods that start from scratch with each new site
  • Routing issues upward without personally addressing permitting, design, or construction roadblocks
  • Prolonging stakeholder alignment without pushing toward concrete decisions

Key responsibilities

Drive end-to-end development of new school sites by delivering operational campuses on consistent schedules while systematically decreasing duration, expense, and uncertainty through AI-enabled process design.

Candidate requirements

  • Verified experience directing at least one real estate development or construction initiative from site acquisition to launch with complete ownership
  • Background managing multiple simultaneous construction or capital programs with direct accountability for scheduling, coordination, and problem resolution
  • Deep working knowledge of zoning regulations, permitting procedures, construction operations, and vendor management, including direct engagement with general contractors, architects, and regulatory authorities
  • Proven capability to evaluate tradeoffs among cost, schedule, and viability with transparent, quantifiable results
  • Experience refining or designing complex operational processes (such as permitting flows, design coordination, or construction execution)
  • Documented ability to convert intricate workflows into structured, replicable systems and enhance them iteratively
  • Record of applying tools (AI or other technologies) to eliminate manual tasks, speed decision cycles, or boost delivery performance
  • Strong sense of ownership with capability to function effectively in uncertain environments and produce tangible results
  • Willingness and capacity to travel up to 60% to operational school sites nationwide and maintain presence during pivotal development and launch periods
  • Currently based in the US and authorized to work without requiring visa sponsorship
