Construction Project Manager   $100,000 USD/year

Description

Most construction project managers are expected to follow timelines. This role requires you to control them—and recover them when plans fall apart.

2 Hour Learning is building a national microschool network that delivers a complete day of education in two hours through AI. The success of that model relies on execution speed and accuracy in the physical world. Every permitting holdup, every on-site sequencing error, every dropped handoff delays growth. This position exists to prevent those breakdowns and transform construction into a reliable, scalable process.

You will be in the field driving builds forward. Managing contractors. Holding schedules. Resolving sequencing problems before they cause setbacks. Simultaneously, you will leverage AI and digital systems to cut manual overhead, increase transparency, and speed up delivery. This is not reactive project oversight. You are the person who intervenes when schedules drift and restores momentum.

If you have worked near construction but struggled with disorganized coordination, lack of accountability, or endless crises, this is your opportunity to take ownership and execute properly—at scale.

What you will be doing

  • Manage on-site construction operations, collaborating directly with contractors to ensure tasks are completed in proper sequence and on time
  • Control and uphold project schedules, monitoring key milestones, spotting risks proactively, and leading corrective measures when slippage happens
  • Leverage platforms such as Procore, Asana, or MS Project to organize tasks, records, and progress tracking across live construction sites
  • Facilitate permitting processes by monitoring submissions, addressing reviewer feedback, and aligning with stakeholders to advance approvals
  • Deploy AI-driven tools to streamline planning, documentation, and decision workflows, minimizing manual tasks and boosting execution velocity

What you will NOT be doing

  • Observing dashboards from a distance without stepping in when schedules fall behind
  • Overseeing projects at a surface level without grasping field conditions and sequencing realities
  • Depending on legacy manual methods for progress monitoring or team communication
  • Sidestepping challenging discussions with contractors or stakeholders when deadlines are threatened
  • Delaying action while waiting for complete data to address emerging problems

Key responsibilities

Ensure the punctual completion of school construction projects by directly managing field coordination, maintaining schedule discipline, and enhancing speed and reliability using digital tools and AI.

Candidate requirements

  • Hands-on experience in construction delivery (field coordination, contractor oversight, or schedule management) with the ability to detail a particular project, your involvement, and how you addressed execution obstacles
  • Track record of controlling or facilitating a project schedule, including building timelines, monitoring milestones, and upholding deadlines, with at least one case of resolving a delay or schedule variance
  • Competence with at least one digital project management platform (e.g., Procore, Asana, MS Project) and capacity to explain its application on an actual project
  • Understanding of construction trade sequencing and ability to recount a scenario where sequencing choices affected the project schedule
  • Practical knowledge of permitting procedures (submissions, reviews, revisions, authority interactions) with firsthand participation in at least one cycle
  • Confirmed use of AI technologies to speed up actual work activities, including a specific example of the tool applied, the output produced, and how accuracy was verified
  • Availability and readiness to work on-site a minimum of 3 days per week, with roughly 60% travel throughout the United States according to project requirements
  • Based in the United States and eligible to work without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice to have

  • Background managing multiple simultaneous construction projects
  • Familiarity with rapid-growth or time-sensitive construction settings where schedules are heavily accelerated
  • Desire to enhance construction workflows through automation or process standardization
