Youth Development Coach   $60,000 USD/year

Description

  • Hybrid AZ · W2 · $60K/yr

This position is for licensed teachers who want to move beyond classroom management and focus on transforming young lives.

Imagine a role where lesson planning, lectures, and grading no longer define your day—where your entire focus is on coaching students to grow into confident, self-sufficient individuals.

Unbound Academy reimagines education from the ground up. This hybrid position supports a fully virtual, tuition-free Arizona charter school that trades worksheets for experiential learning and prioritizes character development. Students handle core academics on their own using AI-driven tools in two concentrated hours each day. The remainder of their schedule is dedicated to cultivating practical skills through facilitated workshops, personalized coaching, and self-directed exploration.

Your role will not involve delivering scripted content or monitoring a virtual classroom. Instead, you'll facilitate dynamic online sessions designed to push students to think critically, innovate, collaborate, and evolve. You'll guide them through storytelling, entrepreneurship, wellness, and strategic thinking while nurturing independence, self-assurance, and executive functioning.

This opportunity is not intended for educators seeking to recreate conventional schooling online. It's designed for licensed teachers prepared to relocate to Arizona, operate in a hybrid format, and equip students with capabilities that genuinely prepare them for adulthood. If you've grown weary of administrative tasks and are eager to pursue the most impactful work of your teaching career, continue reading.

What you will be doing

  • Facilitating engaging virtual workshops centered on life competencies including communication, creativity, critical thinking, and autonomy
  • Coaching students individually and in small cohorts to develop confidence, accountability, and executive function skills
  • Leveraging platform analytics and student indicators to tailor support and monitor development longitudinally
  • Partnering with peer educators to create and iteratively refine project-based learning opportunities
  • Cultivating a supportive, energized space where students feel recognized, stretched, and inspired to advance

What you will NOT be doing

  • Instructing core academic content; adaptive AI tutors provide that instruction
  • Presenting scripted lectures or operating within a conventional classroom framework
  • Evaluating worksheets, assigning homework, or developing standardized lesson plans

Key responsibilities

Advance student development and life preparedness by facilitating transformative, practical learning experiences within a hybrid, fully virtual educational model.

Candidate requirements

  • Available to start end of July 2026
  • Valid U.S. teaching certificate from any state, or an expired certificate eligible for reinstatement, with certification transferable to Arizona
  • Strong virtual presence and comfort leading students via video
  • Able to work in a hybrid role in Arizona
